Up My Own ....

Ive always been a firm believer that you have to take the rough with the smooth and will be the first to admit that I have a good job and that I am lucky. I mean I work part time most of the time. But last week really was the week from hell.

We were warned in advance that the client would be demaning and that they were not your average bunch.

Still we all arrived on Monday Morning bright and breezy, having navigated our way accross London to our Hotel, The Horsegaurds Parade, at One Whitehall Place London. I didnt even know the Hotel existed but it was the most amazing hotel I have seen in years. A Four storey freestanding Marble Staircase (said to be Europes Largest), my room overlooking the Thames with Views of the London Eye, St Pauls ahd the city Skyline, I really felt like I had landed in a good spot (Lucky Bitch that I am).

Of course it went down hill from there. We had a fairly late start but then had the client interfearing and after an exhausting first day had to have a debriefing which took over 90 mins and ended with a complete stranger telling me I was "So F*ing up my own A**E". I was so shocked I think I rebelled out of the nerve of the woman. I have to be the last person person up my own, and in How Very Dare She? So I made sure I provved her wrong and the whole group of us got the best Evaluations ever. Including my young protege, the guy I trained to do my job alongside me. Altaf, Hats off to you matey, you did us proud. So despite staying in central london I didnt do much but work and eat and drink and be merry. We were all too tird to do much but go to dinner and crash! Still noone said that being a lucky bitch was easy! Only that it was worth it!

First Night Nerves

Tomorrow we start work for our new client! None of us have done this before, none of us have experience in exactly how it will go, but it will go ok.

This week I have had a protege. A guy under my wings and his name is Alaf!

I didnt have to help him through but chose to make it my way that I would get him though the initial training program! I cant even remember half of my own training in life, but it happened. Alaf has called me three days running to make sure I answered his questions. I have no doubt that he will shine tomorrow. For we are Lucky Bitches! We know our craft and we know it well.!

Back to work, sigh, a tube strike, Sigh. Will we make it? Will we actually get from Essex to Central London? Who knows. If we dont, we tried, but we sure will make a go of it! And for the rest of it who knows!

I was unpacking some of the boxes in the new house today! Found the most special gift I have ever recieved. My friend Janet (Lady J) last year sent me the family secret recipe to their Salsa! She also sent me in air tight bags the ingregients to make this salsa! So we will arrange something soon! Im not sure what, but its about time the Baron Borchard held a house Warming dont you think? .... Watch this Space!!!

Brokeback Mountain & the Vauxhallcowboy

Suddenly it seems that the whole in theme is cowboys. With the opening this evening of the Movie Brokeback Mountain, it would appear the whole cowboy Genre is back in. I would like to point out for the record I have been the Vauxhall Cowboy for 4 years! Am I always such a trend setter.

Was hoping to go and see the movie this evening but my Mothers (Love her to bits) has bought me and my brother tickets to go and see the West End Hit Musical, "We Will Rock You". I've not seen it before and so it should be fun. Mum gave me two tickets so I am taking Lee with me. So a free west end show (lucky Bitches), should be fun.

Next week I am working in the West End. (For those of you not from the UK, the West End is the Shopping & Theatre District in London). In all my 32 years ( yes thats my real age) I have never spent a single night staying in the West End. Next week I am in a 4 star hotel for four nights all compliments of my client (Lucky Bitches). There are six of us staying in total so I think we will probably do another show next week two. Nice start to the new year. Maybe I'll get ready now and nip into town early to go and see Brokeback Mountain!

Exhaustion & Sleep - Bank Holiday Monday

Having partied and had the best DTPM I can ever remember, I finally got home at around noon on the Bank Holiday Monday. Thank goodness for having Tuesday off additionally.

So I went to bed around 1pm and fell asleep fairly quickly. When I awoke it was already dark and you know what it is like, its dark so you doze peacefully in that semi conscious state. When my body had decided that it was time to get up and surely it must be somewhere around six pm. So I bound out of bed and head to the kettle grabbing my watch through bleary eyes. WHAT THE HECK? It was 1145 PM. I knew I had been tired but to sleep that long? Oh well. What else could I do but open a bottle of Wine, chill with some movies and actually got back to bed and had another 7 hours later in the early hours of Tuesday Morning! Must have caught up with me eh? Back to work on Wednesday, now that really will be a shock to the system. Of course, I only have two days work this week. How could I work full time? I wouldn’t be a Lucky Bitch if I didn’t work part time eh?

DTPM – NEW YEARS DAY PARTY!!!!

After the flop that Love Muscle was we were all more than a little looking forward to DTPM this New Years Day. So much so we had all pretty much bailed on the New Years Eve celebrations. Even the boys that had tickets to Beyond only stayed a couple of hours saying it was rammed! And we all knew DTPM would be a guaranteed blast.

I got to Marcus’s flat at around 9:30PM and Woody & Steve, Richard, Mark & David (Aka Maybeline) arrived and we left arriving at DTPM around 1030 pm. Even ticket holders had to stand in line for about 15 minutes but we were soon in, excited and given our free gift, this year a key chain of the little DTPM man dancing! (Mine will make an excellent necklace).

We gave the new boys a quick tour of the premises and if you have never been to DTPM before you have no idea how big the place actually is! Its over 3 stories underground. Has three massive dance rooms, 2 bars and is possibly the best club on the planet.

We danced, we bobbed to our little hearts content. Met up with Lee & Joel and two of the lads I know from Cardiff, Fonda & Garreth as well as Neil Sexton! I didn’t think I would last as late as I did, but had such a stonking time, it was the party of all parties that finalised Christmas! Now down with the tree & lights and on with a fabulous year! J

New Years Resolution

Normally I either refuse to make one or make some and then they drop out within a few weeks. So this years is easy and doable. I am going to aim to eat more healthily. Plain and simple, less junk and more of the good stuff!

Happy New Years 2005 & Prawns

New Years was and what’s a boy to do? Well we could do the clubs or the bars but they would be packed solid so instead I spent it with my family. My gay family that is, Woody, Steve, Carlos, Marcus chops and of course Richard!
We all went to Marcus Fabulous apartment for cocktails and canapés. Now I have heard some funny things in my time and Richard may have been drunk but it went something along the lines of this, Richard was making me a drink so ....."Would you like a drink?Would you Like Ice? A Straw? Prawn? Richard also came out with a clasic line talking about Mark who's Boyfriend is a Make Up Artist said ; Mark, Boyfriend of Make up Artists! I thought that was so cool Mark should put them on his business cards. So we didn’t really see it off with a bang but rather in good company. Ive headed home early to save myself for tomorrow at DTPMs New Years Day Mega Party. Considering, Scott, Lee, Chris, Ben, Woody, Steve, Carl, Marcus, Richard & I plus entourage to name but a few I’m guessing its gonna be the place to be tomorrow.
