3 More days Training

I am down to my last 3 days of training before I go out and do my onward training on Division. It seems to have come around rearly quickly and I have been to my station and had my tour. 3 more days of classroom based and then it will all become very real.

Our application has now gone in and is sitting somewhere with a civil servant who will make one of the biggest decisions of our lives, if we may or may not enter into civil partnership. Its all very been a very stressfull time for both of us trying to document the proof of our relationship over the past 4 years. You don't always think to save every email or envelope that you have received. With the mention in the news that the home office is to be split into two departments I have no idea as to how long our case will take to get a decision so once more we are waiting but at least this time we get to wait together and not thousands of miles apart.

Was up watching Cops on Camera last night. We both enjoy it and wonder how similar that will be to the real world?

Its Jacqui's birthday on Tuesday and I know exactly what I want to buy her but have, as of yet, not had the time to get to the right store. I will have to try and get out this coming week, especially as I have to go to London on Tuesday for the Dentist. My 6 monthly check up is due. I may go to the Dental Spa and they may be nice and gorgeous and do my botox too but somehow going to the Dentist is never a treat and always seems to cost me more than I want it to. Does anyone know how to get a dentist on the NHS these days?

This evening will bound to be a quiet one as I am up again at 630 tomorrow. I am never good at mornings and weekend mornings are particularly nasty. I did ask Dusan if he would get up and make me breakfast this morning and bless his cotton socks, he said yes. Of course I didnt make him.

Well more soon. I've been a busy boy and not done much lately thus the lack of updates. More soon. Much love Neil x

Application ready to go in

We received the Affidavit's from the solicitor today. Rather than have to go all the way back into London just to have us both sign it in front of him we had to go to a local solicitors to have them Sworn in front of a solicitor.

We went to Hoddesdon and straight to the Solicitors not realising that they were closed for lunch from 1300-1400 so we went for a quick walk and a little shopping in the town centre. 'Oh Hello', came a familiar voice. It was Fanny. I always like to say that its nice to see a bit of Fanny when you least expect it. Especially as she is moving, permanently, to New Zealand in less than 4 weeks.
Funny she leaves exactly the same date, 11 years on, from which I left to move to Orlando in 1996. Its really hard to say goodbye to someone that you love and have been friends with since you were a kid yourself. Somehow New Zealand seems so far that it would be a once in a blue moon visit. Thank goodness for the internet eh? At least we can keep in touch.

As we had almost an hour to kill we went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch. Bargain, £5 for all you can eat and it was far nicer than Mr Wu's.

We made our way back to the Solicitors at 1400. We explained we needed to swear our Affidavits in front of a solicitor and were invited up to the very young and rather sexy Nick's office. Where upon we were given a Bible to hold and had to repeat after the Solicitor, I do solemnly swear, etc. I did laugh, however, when he looked at Dusan and said "Will you do it on the Bible?" Everyone seems to treat him so differently as his not from England.

With the swearing done, we went straight to the Post Office and Special delivery sent the package with all the remaining items back to the Solicitor. That should just about be everything that he asked for and so, fingers crossed, by Friday the application will be submitted to the Home Office. Will keep you posted! :-)

First Night Alone

After almost 2 months since he came home tonight is our first night apart since he got here. 2 magical months of us catching up for a missed Christmas and Birthday, for a lost summer and the special moments that you want to share with the one you love.

Like me, he is a hot body to lie close to. Some nights we both wake up in a sweat from the heat of our two bodies in the same bed. But its a wonderful warmth that I am used to and will miss. So imagine how cold I shall be this evening in my empty hotel bed with no additional warmth on the eve of the winters second snow. It was almost Blizzard conditions in the car here but made it safe and sound in around 3.5 hours. That after spending 8 hours at the College on a First Response First Aid course today.

So weird as it may seem, as I climb into bed for a night away I miss my babycakes. But I can survive one night after all that I we have been through over the past year. Sweet dreams. x

The Gas Chamber

Its a weird feeling knowing that tomorrow I will face the gas. We have known for weeks as its a part of our training but in less than 12 hours I will have temporal parallelism as apparently its essential that we know its effects.

I will write more tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Dusan is also scared as we have dinner at Mum and Dads with Adam, Verity and Nan. Bless, who is scared the most? Dusan or I? Watch this space for an update. The only thing I know is that My Mum and Dad are not likely to make him blind. Hey Ho. All part of the job x

Lunch with Gary & Meeting with Solicitor

Today we had our second visit to the solicitor and after spending over 8 hours yesterday putting together a 3 inch file of evidence we had to present it today.

I had another sleepless night. I think all of the stress of choosing which Emails to print and rushing to get the fact file completed with possibility that something could go wrong has taken its toll on us both. We are exhausted and worn out. Thankfully it was not in vain as Barry our solicitor was really pleased with our progress. A huge thank you to everyone who signed a statement and sent it to him or us. He said that these statements are what make one of the biggest parts of the application. Thank you everybody. A huge thank you also to Auntie Linda who changed hers twice and still put a touching thoughtful letter to pen. Thank you so much everyone.

We have now completed our application and Barry will sort through the remaining parts. I am now without a passport as too is Dusan. They will both also be submitted as evidence to the Home Office. We had to submit Emails, Utility Bills, Bank Statements, Emails from me, Emails to me, Christmas Cards, Birthday Cards, Photo’s, Statements, everything we could that would prove our relationship. Ironically we come home and watch Hollyoaks and they are going through a similar thing.

We came home this evening looking forward to watching our faveourite show, Ugly Betty on E4. Its not on? Was that the last one last week? Please somebody, let me know. We were so looking forward to it.

Also, prior to our meeting with Barry we met Gary for lunch. I have not seen him in so long as I have been stuck at College at weekends and working 13 days straight. It was nice to see my good friend again and we went to Bodeleans BBQ Restaurant in Clapham.

So now we are about to begin yet another wait, the wait for the final documentation to come in and the home office to wave their magic wand of approval. Believe in Magic and just a little pixie dust and believe in us. Heaven knows we do. Thank you.

Lawyer & Ideal home

Having finally finished my run at as Project Manager at Cofunds I have been enjoying a couple of days off. Monday we went into town to visit the Ideal Home Show at Earls Court. Dusan being a bit of a House Maker and DIY enthusiast, he wanted to go and see the homes of the future. It was a fun day out but how tired were our feet.

Yesterday it literally took all day printing out our emails and proof of our relationship. Its really bizarre going through a having to prove stage. We have to do a progress meeting with the Lawyer in the process of getting the approval we need from the Home Office.

Weather has been beautiful, around 17 degrees yesterday. Spring is most certainly in the air and it finally feels like we are leaving winter behind. Roll on a long hot summer. :-)

Pam Anne on Tour

For Christmas my friend Alex gave all of us a ticket to see Pam Anne's 2007. What we didn't realize right away was that it was for the theatre in Basingstoke where Alex lives. Well never ones to miss out on a chance to party we booked into the Hilton to make a weekend of it.

Leaving home early we were checking into the hotel by 1500 and then after freshening up we took a taxi over to Alex's for a couple of Cosmopolitans prior to rushing down to an Italian restaurant in the town centre for dinner. Somewhat stuffed we left the restaurant at 1945 and made the short walk to the Theatre.

Pam Anne Airlines departing at 2000. The show is quite hilarious and apparently "Pam" Aka Caroline came up with the idea when she flew over the UK from Canada. Her constant mockery at all airlines, British Airways for being so snobby, easy jet for being so cheap and Virgin for the crew being sluts. We were in stitches. Having found members of crew in the Audience from the said three airlines the whole evening was full of Banter. James from Virgin had just finished an Upper Class flight to L.A. Pam asked "What did you serve for dinner".
"Hot Pot or Fish Pie" James replied
Pam mocked but then looked at Gemma from Easy Jet and said "I dont know what you are laughing at, they at least serve hot food"

We ended up back at Alex's for a couple of glasses of Champagne before going back to the hotel around 1130 and crashing out.

Finally having some time off work I think its all catching up and I am exhausted. I need my energy for the Ideal Home Exhibition later this week eh?

Mark Parkers Birthday

As it was Mark's Birthday we went into London and met them at theirs for a quick drink before we made our way to the Mayflower Pub. Dusan and I along with Mark & Richard, Philp & Chris, Antonio & Warren, Salvatore & Jack. We had a table on the upper floor in what is one of Londons oldest pubs with fabulous riverside views.

A scrumptious meal followed in good company and we didn't end up getting home till gone 11PM and I am up early to get to Milton Keynes today. Still worth it to see our good friends on their special day.

A very Happy Birthday Mark. Love Neil & Dusan x

No end in sight

Another morning of up at 530AM and then off around the M25 to get to the office in time for a days training. Once more I feel drained and ready to drop but I still have Friday at work and a full weekend of Training in Defensive Skills before Monday comes around and golly gosh, its back to work.

One more week and I finally get some time off and at last I can be a Lucky Bitch and relax. Roll on the week off, Purlease!
