Lazy Lucky Bitches

After a nice lie in till after 11:00 we just spent the day together, discussing the future and cleaning the house, plus choosing a new colour scheme for the bathroom.

Just after lunch Dusan informed me that he likes DIY and would love to put together the Plasma TV Stand. It took Dad and I over 3 hours over 2 nights to do the thing, yet he did it, alone, in just an hour. How impressed was I?

I offered to take him out but as we are in the West End tomorrow we decided to stay home, I cooked dinner and we watched Brokeback Mountain, Little Britain and some more TV.

Feel really lazy & relaxed but this is the first time I have taken time off and spent it at home with nothing to do but chill with my boy.

Sunday Family Lunch - Brighton

Bank holiday weekend and the choices were unlimited with virtually every big club open and about 3 different venues for Orange alone.

With Dusan being here I really didn’t want to go away and leave him for too long but he had made plans to meet up with his old friends from when he lived here and so I took Gary up on his offer to join him down in Brighton for his new gig. So we met up at Noon on Sunday and took the train into Brighton arriving at 1321. From here we made our way to our dear pal, Jaffa Joe’s, restaurant at 14 Ship Street. Had a chance to have a drink and a catch up with Jaffa Joe and once again enjoy his famous Jerk Chicken.

Somehow the hours flew past and before we knew it, 6:00PM had come around and Joe was done. We grabbed our bags and made our way to Joe’s Apartment and dropped our cases as we cracked open a bottle of Bubbly to celebrate the good company. Gary’s Gig was due to Start at 2030 so we had time for a quick freshen up, and made our way to the Metropole. Even more Magners on top of the bubbly and the Cider earlier I was beginning to feel a little fluffy.

We met up with the club promoters and then Joe & I went Flyering around Brighton. We had about half an hour before we had to be back for his gig so made our way down the sea front, stopping at the Amsterdam for a drink (another Cider, just for old times sake). I’m beginning to feel an association between Brighton & Magners. (Official Sponsor, to Be, of Gary H’s Gaydar Radio Show, Weekdays from 2100).

We got back just after Gary had started and managed to enjoy even more drinks before making ourway down to the other room of the club for a boogie. Fifi had finally gotten in touch via phone and sounded as though he had been out all weekend. Still, being the Party Animal that he is managed to Train down to Brighton and met up with us in time to catch Gary’s mixing. (I said Mixing not Mincing)

From the club we went with the Promotors down to the Ocean Rooms which will be Gary’s New Monthly gig from next month. We were given access to the VIP lounge which was so straight you just wanted to snog a bloke to prove a point. I think we stayed out until around 0230 before making our way back to Joes for a Chill out. Fifi wasn’t ready to come back and stayed on to party. Man is he Hardcore?

We chilled and carried on drinking until almost 8AM. Fifi came home around 4:00 and dressed in what looked like an Old Carpet but was actually one of Joe’s dressing gowns. I think the weekend finally caught up with him as he fell asleep on the chair in virtually an upright position that had less angel than a charter airlines seats.

We finally got a few hours sleep and woke up around 11:00 in time to dress and head for Lunch back at 14 Ship Street. I say Lunch, we literally lived on Fruit if you can class Cider as Fruit?

As always in Brighton, the time flew, great times and just a great time in great company. Thanks to Joe for putting us up (Or is it putting up with us?) Thanks to Gary for the Invite and Fifi for the laughs. Was another amazing weekend away and as Joe Said, its just like catching up with the family.

I had to leave at just after 6PM to get back to Dusan who had stayed in London to catch up with friends he used to work with. Finally got back home around 10PM.

Today should simply be noted as...

the day when all of my lucky stars came in line and I became one of the luckiest, happiest men on the Earth!

Beach Party & Dear Friends

What a fabulous way to spend a day. We started off with a quick tour of Gaydar Towers popping into say hello to Gary, Neil & Simon

(How could I not introduce Dusan to the people I know & love), then we had to head to Battersea to pop in and see Woody & Steve. (Were beginning to feel like were on a world on a world tour, so many people to see and so little time). So we made out way to Bartasia and were greeted by a fabulous spread that my personal trainer would have fit at. There was Chocolate Biscuits, Jaffa Cakes, Sweets, Flapjacks, Pizza, Chocolate Fingers oh and fabulous bowl of Skittles (Sugar burns so quicker than fat I’ve found). It was great to see the boys again and their new baby, to add to the collection, Miss Molly (Jack Russell) to add to Lucy & Millie. On the way there I stopped and bought Dusan some flowers. He said, "I dont like Flowers?", which I thought was odd. Later, he said thank you and he didnt know what to say as noone had ever bought him flowers before! Aint that sweet?

We all sat down for a drink and started to catch up when Marcus Chops arrived. Beaming in, his ever bouncing about fabulousness. The time just seemed to fly by and before we knew it our two hours were up and we had to head on to the main event of the evening, Richard & Marks Summer Beach Party.

So we have had the hottest summer in years and once again the British weather lets you down. But the boys had decked out their garden with all the beach paraphernalia such as Beach Balls, inflatables etc.

Everyone had come dressed in beach wear as the invitation was strictly “Wear whatever you would wear on a beach”. Richard, Classily had nothing on but an Apron, of course he was Head Chef, and Hygiene was an issue. We wore matching Beach Shorts and shirts but how some of the boys managed to go it nothing but Speedos as the temperature dived to below 20 degree’s I don’t know. However, Toms Speedo’s definitely looked packed out, Viagra?

I was asked to host Beach Twister and so clad in their underwear Richard, Tom, Warren & Antonio twisted around to the game as I called the positions. Before we knew it, it was after 11:00 and time to head home for a cuddle and some special time together.

Dusan just told me that he had read my blog while on the ship and it had made him cry. His only been here 2 days and i'm dreading him leaving already. Have faith and things will work out, right?

Happiness is a not a Cigar, its a man called Dusan

After 2 years and 2 months apart, my baby is finaly back. I guess you could say that I was reserved in my emotions, not wanting to allow myself to feel the way I really did incase it was not the same after such a time of absense. Finally as today drew nearer and the hours counted down, it was not surprising I could not sleep.

Dusan's flight was due in at 12:30PM at Luton Airport (LA)so I was there just as he arrived at Arrivals.

Nothing has changed, nothing is different, its as thought we have never been apart. I love him as much today as I always have.

2 Years and 2 months is a long time to not know if you will feel the same, but today, I am the happiest guy on the planet. Its been an emotional day of tears of happiness and missed times, catching up with what one another have been doing.

He has a 2 week visit here, the big question is really, Do I let him leave?

Half a bottle of Jaiegermiester later (37% Proof)and im a very happy Bunny.

This is Vauxhallcowboy, saying a very goodnight to you all, from my loved up little world! Big Kiss!

Weekend Shenanigans

After a weekend of feeling utterly exhausted last week to the extent that I had to cancel both a Friday night Dinner Party and a Saturday Luncheon this weekend was going to be a fun one. Richard & Mark (The Leather Queens) had invited me to join them at Hard On, Saturday evening. Not really sure if I wanted to go, I decided to keep my options open. But in the end having heard that the lovely Simon Le Vans was going for his Virgin, Hard On Experience (Dressed in leather shorts he has said on Gaydar Radio), it was a sight I dare not miss. So dressed in my leather Harness and freshly polished Doctor Martin Boots I made my way to the Boys Saturday evening and headed off to join Antonio & Warren for a cocktail before the main event. We arrived at the new venue, Hidden in Vauxhall, just after 11:00. Fortunately we were early enough to miss the huge lines for the cloak room and were soon winding our way through the club ready to change into our gear and ready to parade at London’s biggest Fetish Club.

The venue itself, Hidden, was enormous. 3 Large Arches (as most of the clubs in Vauxhall are built in Railway Viaducts) and two of these had a Mezzanine level. It was an massive space of 5 rooms in Total.

We started in the Lazer Trance room before beginning our tour and finding our bearings. The music in the Trance room being a little too intense for our liking we moved into the main room to enjoy the upbeat tracks played by the very sexy Brett Nicholls.

In the crowd I somehow lost the boys and so made my way back to the starting point to see if I could find them. Entering the Trance Room, the Two Lazers blasting beams of green light in every direction to such an extent that you couldn’t see anything but shadows in front of you. Woooooooosh and a gush of smoke took away any vision that was left. Suddenly someone grabbed me and pulled forward. “Hello Love”. Unable to see for Laser’s and smoke the voice was instantly recognisable. Simon Le Vans, true to his word, dressed in Leather shorts and I believe a half size harness. Looking fabulously trim and gorge. No wonder he won the six weeks to summer. He looked fitter than I did. (Memo to me, get to the gym 4 times next week). Was nice to see Simon out of the DJ box and having a good time.

Having found the boys again we had a last boogie and venture around the club before getting back to Surrey Quays to Chill out.

Several hours sleep later & a champagne Brunch with boys. What a fabulous way to spend the weekend.

The boys, bending my arms behind my back, dragged me off to SBN for a few hours (I was kicking and screaming all the way) before I made my way to a final reunion with Richie, John & Simon and the faithfull few at the ever fabulous Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Edna was of course on form as always and it was the perfect wrap up to a truly fabulous weekend spent in the best of Company! Thanks to everyone who was there. Much love always, VC X

My New Addiction

Weird, emotional night in. How can Big Brother make you upset? Lonely nights in, never quite what you plan are they?

But while watching it and realising that yet another addiction is going to need to be replaced. I mean, what will I do without my daily Big Brother updates?

Back where I always have been, living and loving my life. I guess, cos I love it all so much, its when I am not so happy about something that I realise that there are still a few voids to fill.

Most people want a sense of community, well I have found a community of my own. A gay community that is actually not bitchy or two faced or anything like any of the stereotypes we gay boys can have. My newly found addiction, and this is a healthy one (I think) , Gaydar Radio. I have been a fan of the station for years, but now its become so much more than just a station. Its become family. The friends I have made through the Gaydar Radio Chat room are some of the closest I have on the planet right now. The Presenters are no longer just people that we hear on the Radio, who come into our homes and lives on a daily basis, waking up with their happy tones & voices. These are real people that I have gotten to know and love. People that have gone from being a radio personality to Dear Friends. People that I speak with almost daily and love spending time with. People I share values on life with. People I can enjoy going out with and can trust to keep their word or a dear secret. People that make us Happy. The Show’s you both & Girls put out cheer us all up everyday. From waking with Jason & Neil, Jamies Lunch Box, Sam’s Requests, Simons Frolicks, Gary’s Hard 12”, Baylen’s late Night chill outs. Julians Madness & Yannicks Saturday Glory and all the boyz and girls in the background. A huge thank you to you all. I am proud and happy to say I have a new Addiction. My addiction is Gaydar Radio. Cos its real, its fabulous, its not just gay its for everyone, it’s the friendliest chat room on the Net and the music. You can die for the music. Its about our community! Its our Station and I love it. Thanks to everyone that makes it such a special space in so many peoples lives. Thanks for everything guys! We Love You! X VC

Big Brother the Finale

After 13 weeks of literally being glued to my TV set most evenings and every Friday the Final has come.

Who will win? Watch this space. A Pint of Magners and a night in, I will be happy viewing! More to follow! Good bye Big Brother, till BB8 2007!

South London Action Girls Society do Rude Boyz

Mikey & I had a day off today, Friday, so decided to make the most of it and do something that we cant do every week and headed off to Rude Boyz. A Club, in London’s Vauxhall, the Gay Village. Thursday nights is Rude Boyz, a collection of Scally Boy Chavs and their admirers. A lot of admirers and not so many Scallys but tons of hot hot boys in every direction.

We started the evening at the newly opened Bar Code in Vauxhall. Oh my goodness. What a fab bar. Even with the back bar & dance floor closed on Thursday it was fab. The huge glass frontage really something of a modern new London.

Around 1145 we walked up the Viaduct to Fire and into Rude Boyz. Thanks to Mikey having flyers it only cost us £6 to get in. We were just in time to buy a beverage and catch the Amature Strip Contest. 4 Budding boys up on the stage getting their wedding tackle out to the onlooking crowd. Very much just something done to get people spending more time in the bar and buying drinks.

Once this was over and the winner, normally the one with the biggest willy has been crownded they open up the back rooms that are commonly known as Scally Alley. Its like a mass exodus or a dame being burst open as a mass of bodies vacate the main room and make their way to the rear rooms of the club.

Considering I was shattered at 9PM when we headed out I didn’t think I would last all night, but a couple of Red Bull later and I was sorted. Fab night had by both. As Mikey likes to put it, SLAGS on Tour. Today Rude Boyz, Thanksgiving is San Francisco. Watch out California. Here we come.

The Gary H Chicken Burger Saga

Inadvertently, it would appear that I have missed one of the funniest stories of the entire Brighton Pride Weekend.

On the morning after the night before, i.e. Sunday morning, we went down to the sea front and sat in a Bar drinking firstly a Pitcher of Pimms & Lemonade before more than a few pints of Magner’s Cider (Apparently the UK’s Premium Choice Cider), we decided to get some food. Considering it had been over 24 hours since we had even thought about food. The Sea Front bar offered a variety of snacks as well drinks and so we found ourselves fingering (Now that’s a first), through the Menu.

Being absolutely shattered, walking far was out of the question and so we decided A Cheeseburger & Chips for Steve and me and a Chicken Burger for Gary with Chips. Nice, Different, Unusual. (I found out today that this is actually someone called “Cath & Kim)’s saying and not Gary H’s) (It took me 3 months after hearing Simon Le Vans saying “Who Dear, Me Dear, What Dear, No Dear” before realising that it was by someone called Tate not Le Vans.

Gary agreed to do the honours and go and order. So we sat and enjoyed the sunshine and waited for our food. We managed to go through about 2 pints (Magner’s of course) before a waitress bought us our food. The two burgers arrived. “Er, ok, just one Chicken Burger left then”, Gary said, as the Eastern European waitress just grinned. And while Steve and I tucked into our food watched Gary wait. Wait and Wait. Wait and wait and wait. Infact, having waited almost 90 minutes we looked at the receipt that was in front of us. Somehow he had managed, probably lost in translation, to only order 2 Cheeseburgers. He had been sat there all of that time and had forgotten to order his own food. Did we laugh? Did we heck!

The two burgers were really rather rank (Should have gone to Jaffa’s at 14 Ship Street), but Gary’s Chicken Burger was just plain foul. It looked more like a Findus Crispy Pancake than a Burger of any sots. It was dry, tasteless and disgusting. So should have gone to Jaffa’s at 14 Ship Street. Gary sat, almost in disbelief. How could it have been so nasty after such long waits?

Gary, now starving having waited 2 hours, had a plate full of fried crap in front of him. You could tell that the look on his face was of pure revolt. How very Dare they? You call this food? Poor Gary looked about to cry. He demanded to see a person in authority and the Manager was called. (Don’t you love seeing a man who knows what he wants?). The manager listened to Gary’s wait and how he didn’t feel that the food was appropriate after waiting so long and it being so nasty. The manager both refunded Gary and gave him a free Pint, plus Steve and I another pint too. Quite happy but still starving Hungry Gary’s free drink and refund came. He then sat there and had the nerve to eat not only the fries but also the Chicken Burger, Bun & Salad, leaving virtually nothing on the Plate he had now been refunded and received a free drink for. Well some people are so fickle. We did laugh. We did take the Mickey. But you know what? If you can’t make fun of your friends, who can you make fun of? Big G, we may have laughed but it was a fabulous weekend, it was so much fun that we are still talking about it now. Moral of this story surely is. You Can Have your Lunch and Eat’. PS – Mr Kipling does make exceeding good KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

What have I created?

After a very relaxing weekend of doing nothing but clean the house and catching up on in excess of 22 hours of lost sleep, this afternoon I made my way to Church, AKA The Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

It doesnt matter when you go the Tavern, any sunday, you will be sure to bump into some of the nicest people in London.

This afternoon I had arranged with Richie (Richie) and John (Britishmate) and the lovely Simon Le Vans (DJ & Gaydar Radio Prime Time DJ) to meet up at the Tavern. Its a real shame Simon doesnt get to talk like he does on the Radio.
His show is hillarious. It could be a real different sunday afternoon at the RVT if he did. Nice, Different, Unusual.

Arriving before 4, we had time for some drinks and catch up while the place was still airy and spacious.

Finally got to meet Hardsub (Matt), funny that most of dont refer to each other by their real names at all anymore, but rather their gaydar posona. With Simon (SLVs) Playing the warm up tunes we had a wee boogie before the show. The Dame Edna Experience proved that she is the Queen of all Cabaret, singing some of the usual numbers plus some S Club and Reach for the Stars, 4 Non Blonds & Whats going on and the grand finalee live to "I just wanna f**king Dance". Everyone was bouncing up and down and really all you can do in such a crowed space to show your appreciation is bounce!

Stayed on for a couple more hours booging and had serveral people stop and ask me "Excuse me, are you the Vauxhall Cowboy?. We have heard you loads on the radio". I think when I turned around and showed them the back of my TeeShirt with 6 Inch Letters saying VAUXHALLCOWBOY was a bit of a give away. I just find it funny, I'm far from celebrity, but more and more am getting noticed out! Its kind of fun really!

May make the RVT next weekend, its such a fab way to chill out on Sunday afternoons and you can still be home in time for an early night pre work monday! Goodnight!

Madonna Confessions on a Dance Floor Tour

I have literally just walked in the door from the concert I have ever seen in my life. Could this week get any better? Arriving at Wembley at close to 730 we grabbed a few drinks from the bar and then wandered up and down the arena checking out both the boys and the merchandise. Marcus had spotted a boy he knew or as using one of our quirky little phrases, "He'd had that boy before". As Marcus caught up with his ex shag from his Bristolian days who should I spot through crowd other than the lovely Jason Rosam & Keith. Seemed like every poof and their mother was out to see Madonna tonight. I bought Jason & Marcus a drink at which point the intercom announced "Ladies & Genglemen, kindly take your seats, this evenings performance is about to begin". Said Goodbye to Jason & Keith and made our way up the Steps to section S5. It was bizare as we had been sure that the tickets had originally said block AA. I guess thats what you get when you rely on Ebay? However we had to gasp in amazement when the usher directed us to the front row of the section litterally five rows up from the front left of the stage. With it being tiered seating there was nothing but a few feet gap between us and the closest point of the stage and a clear view of the main stage, catwalk and raised sections. I dont think I have ever had closer seats at Wembley in all of my life.

The crowd was a mass of excited party goers and a non stop stream of flashes made their way accross the auditorium dispite there being signs on the entrance quoting "No Filming or Cameras". Considering that nearly everyones phone is now a telephone I dont think there was a person there that didnt have a camera.

The compulsary round of Mexican Waves started to weave its way in an Anti Clockwise direction around the Arean making the very lively crowd even more excited. Suddenly the lights went down and several scantally clad male dancers filled the stage. If you ever saw that Channel Four Television Program about the French Acrobatic Dancers that literally ran accross the rooftops of London including the Royal Albert Hall it was the very same. With back flips and jumps and leaps that were just amazing the pre show was well underway. As the dancers made their way towards the rear a huge glitterball around 12 feet in height started to slowly lower in the middle of the Arena. As it reached its climatic bottom it slowly opened up like a Bergere Egg opening to a fanfare of screaming fans as the Queen of Pop, our Lady Madonna made her entrance.

Various video walls showed video footage of the live show for those in the less fortunate seats. We thankfully needed them not as we had an uninterupted view direct to the stage.

A mixed element of upbeat choooons (Tunes in Gaydar Radio Chatroom speak) filled the entired two hours.

After a couple of opening numbers from the Confessions on a Dancefloor album, Maj dressed in horse riding gear and crop came and sat on a Carosel style Horse that could have been no more than 12 feet from our faces. Here she sat as it rotated and moved in a horse style fashion as she sang an upbeat version of Like a Virgin.

A half dozen costume changes, a 70's Roller Skate / Donner Sumners crossed with John Travolter extravaganzer. A couple of slow ones mixed in with fantastic songs and mixes from both Confessions and older albums. Ray of Light had everyone litterally jumping up and down in a heavy metal style as Madonna had us all firmly as putty in her hands.

Breaking momentarily to clense her outfit from dirt and grim gathered during a floor hugging dance routine she commented that last week she had performed to a massive audience at a Rome Stadium show but in comparison there is no place London, "Its like coming home" she said, as the crowd erupted once more.

The show was a continuous dance party in excess of two hours ending dramatically with a super fast version of "Time goes by so slowly" A massive glitterball glowed tiny dots on us all as we danced and danced and danced till not an inch of me was not completely covered in sweat.

The tracks sung were;
1. Future Lovers
2. Get Together
3. Like a Virgin
4. Jump
5. Live to Tell
6. Forbidden Love
7. Isaac
8. Sorry
9. Like It or Not
10. Sorry Video Reprise
11. I Love New York
12. Ray of Light
13. Let It Will Be
14. Drowned World/Substitute for Love
15. Paradise (Not for Me)
16. Disco Inferno/Music Mashup
17. Erotica
18. La Isla Bonita
19. Lucky Star
20. Hung Up

If anyone, like me, had any hessitation prior at the excessive cost of this current tour (We paid £175 each including booking fee from Ticket Master), I would have happily have paid more. Was it worth it? I'd pay it again to see it once more. It was possibly the best concert I have EVER seen. Not once did we sit down, not once did we stop singing, not once did we stop smiling.

Arriving home at Marcus's Clerkenwell Appartment not long after midnight we sat down on the sofa and sighed. Knowing that in our present elated state there was no way that either of us would sleep un aided so proceeded to take a sleeping aid and a stiff drink. Just when you have the best weekend you can remember and think everything after will feel dull in comparison, Madonna proved us wrong by throwing us the concert of a lifetime at her Wembey show. Isn't it about time You Confessed?

As always, please send your comments to neil@vauxhallcowboy.com

Madonna Concert Tomorrow, cant wait!

Its official, tomorrow, after I do a days work I am off to see Madonna. Marcus totally got the date wrong last week and its this wednesday not next. Just the sort of thing I need to keep me smiling.

This morning getting up early to go back to work was far from easy after such a fabulous weekend (Lucky Bitches). So starting to look forward to Madonna! Will keep you posted as always and sorry if the last entry was a little long. Im not a therapist, I just say what I see / feel. And lovely it was too! Night. x

Brighton Pride - Possibly the best Party in the World

Pride in Brighton & Hove - Could it have been a better weekend?

I think the only songs that could sum up how I feel right now would be “Perfect Day” or “I’ve had the time of my life”. I’ve never shed tears of joy before and can honestly say I cant remember this much happiness in one weekend since I was about ten years old.
After a week of my excitement building more and more Friday finally was here and having packed I took a Taxi to the Station and then caught a Train through London to Brighton. My train got in around 230 PM, giving me just enough time to check in at our city centre hotel, catch up with Jaffa Joe & Gizmo and make our way back to the Station to meet Gary coming in on the train after mine.

Arriving at the Station literally a minute after Gary called to say he had arrived I bumped into Neil Sexton, Jason Rosam (Gaydar Radio Breakfast show hosts) and Robin, the Station Manager. Everyone was excited and ready for the biggest free gay festival in Europe.

I took Gary to the hotel and we stopped in the high street for a few bags of shopping. Unfortunately I had forgotten to put a belt on with my shorts and they were a little loose. As I was walking and carrying two bags of shopping my shorts literally fell down, right in the middle of the high street.

Gary and I nearly wet our self laughing and quite literally we coined in the phrase, “I was just walking down the street when all of my clothes just fell off”. Dropping off our bags we were just in time to meet up with Alex, Mikey, Steven & Michael. As the group grew ever larger we headed out into the Sunshine and went for a few drinks of Magners Cider (OMG it really is to die for) at the Amsterdam Hotel terrace on the sea front. We wound our way back up and down St James Street stopping at various locations for a drink and then made our way via taxi to Steven’s flat near hove for a traditional champagne reception & cocktails.
With several drinks in us we had to head off to meet the Leather Queens, Mark & Richard, but having not eaten all day sat down for some Fish & Chips on the Promenade before meeting Mark & Richard in Doctor Brighton’s for a couple of drinks.

Here Gizmo caught up with us again and so we headed back to Jaffa Joes Flat about ten minutes walk. Joe had kindly offered to let Gizmo & Pojocarr (more regulars from the Gaydar Radio Chat room) to stay for Pride weekend. Gary and I agreed to go for a few hours but insisted on leaving by midnight, what with the huge main event the following day. Joe came back with us for a wee chat and we were soon dozing off despite the rooms soaring heat.

Saturday I woke up in a hot sweat as the sun poured through the windows at 9:00 AM. Gary & I dressed and made our way down to the Grand Hotel to meet up with Richard & Mark for our now traditional Champagne Brunch pre Pride. Incidentally running into Neil Sexton & Jason Rosam. The Break boys had bought all their radio mikes and gear down and it had been set up inside a bar just on the main Parade route. The only problem was the Landlord was not opening the doors and with only a quarter of an hour prior to being due on air their equipment (no pun intended) was locked inside the currently closed bar. Some Frantic telephone calls were being made while people tried to locate the owners. Funny enough in itself but even more so was the fact that Jason was more worried that his hair styling moose was in the bar too. (We love you Mouse or not Jason). Finally the bar man opened up and they were setting up ready for the big Parade at Ten.

We managed to sip our way through two very fine bottles of champagne before leaving the Grand at 11:00 and for the first time took a Taxi to Preston Park to watch it arrive rather than following the masses of people down from the seafront.
It was far more civilised and the fact that we managed to find an off licence that sold Magners, Gary & I were more than happy sipping Cider and making a small wander around the park to enjoy the space & tranquillity before the Madness pursued. Making our way back to the Parade route to watch the floats coming through. Unlike the London parade there were no gaps, just a continuous flow of floats & dancers. The theme this year was Carry on Pride and the floats were decked out brilliantly with many a Carry on Film being reinacted.

The lovely Barbara Windsor dressed in a Fabulous Blue top looked to be queen bee as she was the guest of honour on the Floats and looked like she was having just as much fun as the rest of the party goers. One of the things I like most about Brighton Pride is that its not just a gay event but rather a City Event. The whole city seems to come out and watch the Parade go by. As early as 0930AM there were people lining the Parade route taking up their vantage points for the procession. Families, Children, Men, Women all out to just have a good time regardless of colour, sexuality or creed. It has such a community spirit. Gary and I had to laugh when we stopped for a coffee and the young man serving us asked “When is the Gay Parade” (You think they thought we were gay? How very dare they! I suppose the fact that I was wearing a tee shirt that said “This man likes cock” was a bit of a give away.

As the Parade ended we bought another Magners and made our way in to Preston Park. Unlike the green open space we had seen an hour earlier it was now swarming with thousands of people having the most amazing time. Official figures say the final number was 150,000 people.
middle of the fun fair to sit for a while and have a drink and met up with my friends Emily & Gill. Emily’s now third pride & Gills Virgin experience. They couldn’t believe how much fun and how many people were out having a blast.

Having run into most of my dear friends from London we made our way to Wild Fruit, the main dance tent and were taken in by Mikey & Alex to find the rest of the Gang. Nigel, Shawn, Mikey, Richard, Mark, Richie, & John. Plus several thousand other people pumping and grinding to the dance tracks.

The Sun was beaming down and with little breeze the tent was getting hotter and hotter so we decided that we would find a spot to sit for a while. At that moment Gary found Jason who got us into the Wild Fruit VIP area. It was chilled, open space, private bar & private toilets ( I think the queue for the public toilets was around 40 minutes by the time the park filled). Once we were inside we bumped into even more familiar faces, Neil, Yannick, Robin, Steve (Beyond) & the lovely Jaffa Joe.

Normally I do several circuits of the park and really see everything but with such a nice group of people just having a good time meeting up and enjoying themselves it seemed the perfect place to spend the rest of the afternoon. They even had a private VIP dance area (a raised platform within the Wild Fruit Tent). The heat was incredible but the music compensated and once more we burnt off all that we had consumed in the day (Fabulous).

I have no idea what happened to the time, it seemed one minute we were watching the parade and then it was 8:00PM and the park was closing. Time really does fly when you are having fun.

We made our way out of the park and back down London Road stopping over in Jaffa Joe’s flat for a cocktail or two and caught up with even more faces from the Gaydar Radio Chat room, Ant_uk, Pojocarr to name but a few. The place was so full of people. The stop made sure that we were not rushing through the crowds of people to
We had intended to go to Audio (Nightclub & Bar) but by the time we got there at 11:00PM they said it was full and to come back at 11:30. We decided to go back to Trevor’s Hotel Room and just chill out. Everyone just once again enjoying good company and having a good time. I did get to share a Hot tub with the very sexy RJ even though we couldn’t get the bubbles to work. Somehow once more the time just flew. One minute it was 11:30PM and then the sun was up. The beach was packed all night long as people made there own parties and just enjoyed themselves. Leaving the Hotel around 7:00am we made our way back to RJ & Michaels Hotel room and fantastically the bar was open already (another couple of Magners wouldn’t go amiss eh?). We stayed in their hotel just chilling and chatting (RJ & Michael are so funny) and then as it was getting ever so hot made our way down to the beach and found a spot at the Honey Bar by 1045. Somehow the time just flew and before we knew it it was gone 6PM.

to squeeze in some kind of food (We so should have eaten at Jaffa’s on Ship Street – Best Jerk Chicken I have ever tasted). A few more drinks in the hazy sunshine and the we all started to notice that we were beginning to tingle. We put on more sunscreen. As the alcohol & heat started to kick in we started to laugh and laugh at more and more of the funny things that had been said over the weekend. Fifi’s classic “got any KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK” that you just have to hear and you will laugh and of course “And then my clothes just fell off”.

As more and more people joined us and the party grew to about 20 in total everyone was saying it by the end of the day. We were just in fits of laughter.

Around 5 PM RJ was looking very red and had fallen asleep in his chair (None of us had been to bed yet). We moved him to the beach to lie down in the shade but obviously the combination of lack of sleep and a few alcoholic beverages caused him to dehydrate. The poor boy got disoriented when he woke up and ended up wandering off and found his way to the Candy Bar (Brighton’s Lesbian Bar) (Also in London’s Soho). He eventually came back to his normal lovely self and realised not only was he in a Lesbian bar but had a stamp on his arm saying PAID! He has no recollection of even getting to the bar which was a good 15 minutes walk further down from the beach.

We said goodbye to the Gaydar Posse and made our way to Ship Street to meet Joe again. Time for a few more drinks at Audio on the outside roof terrace. The weather had just been perfect and it seemed to be getting hotter as the day went on. We had to be outside to even be able to breath. Sadly Gary & Steve had to get back to London and left around 10PM for work commitments Monday, but Joe & I ventured on. Having never made it to Wild Fruit the Club and after enjoying the Wild Fruit Tent at Brighton Pride for years I have always wanted to go. As you can imagine, with so many people in the city it was absolutely rammed. 3 rooms on multiple levels, an Amazing PA singing 3 dance songs live & dozens and dozens of Beautifull Boys. Inside we managed to catch up with Cadice, Raksha, Kenton & Richard. Half of the Gaydar Chat room boys were there and Shaun and Mikey, Alex & Mikey, Steven & Michael. There were so many people but still enough room to dance. Sadly the air-conditioning was on the blink and the heat was getting unbearable. Within two hours my fingers looked like I had been swimming and all prune like. Having had no sleep since waking at 9AM on Saturday Morning at 2AM I said my goodbye to everyone and made my way outside for some air and to rest my aching legs. (well via the Oasis for a swim and cool down). Finally getting to sleep at just after 5AM Monday morning.

One was not amused when the Hotel Fire Alarm blasted for 10 seconds at 0900AM. The sun was once again beaming into the Hotel room and it was stifling.

Checked out at 10:00AM and walked back down to Jaffa Joes flat for a final goodbye at the end of a Perfect weekend before meeting up with Alex (Patsie) and Mikey to make our trip back on the train.

Everyone who came and shared in the magical weekend a huge THANK YOU. I can honestly say I am a very blessed person. There was a lot of love this weekend and I very luckily got to share it with some very dear friends. Some I have never even met before but know I will see again soon. A huge Thank You too to all of the Lovely Boys at Gaydar & Gaydar Radio. As a regular listener you get used to having them come into your home everyday via the radio, you really do begin to feel you know them. You would never think that you could make some of your best friends in a chat room. You give us so much boys, thank you all. The Perfect Weekend in Perfect company. Hope to see you all soon. 20 Days & Counting

I know its hard for some of you to believe. But im all of a tither, I cant concentrate at the moment, my head is all of a whurr. 20 Days until Dusan comes back. Its only for a 2 week visit, but its been so long in coming. I feel sad that its been so long, excited that he will be here soon, lost that he will stay so short, enlightened & sadended at the same time. A very strange feeling. What do I want to happen? For it to be as I think it is, us to be so in love we Marry and live happily ever after. What do I dread? Him having to leave in September. What will happen? Who can say, Fate has a way of always making things the way they should be. Till then I am counting the days till i can see, touch, feel & Taste my baby again! Yeah alright, im a big old softy at heart. But then some people are worth being a softy for eh? x

Pre Pride Excitement

~~ Pre Pride Excitement ~~

Ok, I know I am beginning to go on a bit but I am beginning to get more excited by the minute. Pride is always fun, DTPM is always amazing but Brighton Pride is like the Platinum of Prides. After all of the fun we have had at EuroPride and Soho Pride which are just day events imagine how much fun a whole weekend of it will be.

Last year I went Friday to Sunday making it the first year that I have actually stayed prior to the main event. The city transformed into an apprehensive excitable state. Driving in past Preston park seeing the fun fair and marquees all erected and ready for the huge park festival. With in excess of 130,000 people expected there will likely be not an inch of grass that is covered in swarming masses of people having a great time.

Friday evening will commence with a relaxing dinner and drinks with friends. Unlike last year I do not intend getting drunk on the Friday evening and being hung over all day Saturday. I was thinking of getting an early night but seems Jaffa Joe is hosting a party and now that me and G are on the Guest List, it would be rude not to make an appearance. I was going to go down early with Richard and Mark tomorrow but seeing as I seem incapable of EVER getting an early night to sleep, I figure a sleep in may be best before I meet G and make our way down to the coast.

Saturday will be a Champagne Brunch at Mark & Richard (the leather Queens) hotel suite at the Grand and then we will make our way down towards Preston Park to watch the Parade coming in. Wild Fruit is where you are likely to find us for most of the afternoon, pausing to peruse the market stalls or the fairground. So with all this excitement and the fact that half of my dearest and closest friends on the planet will be there means it will be a stonking weekend. With any luck the man of my intentions will end up in my bed and it will be a wild wild weekend for the Vauxhall Cowboy.

Yeewhore. Yes, Yeewhore, its what Neil Sexton has now started to call me on the air and seems half of the Chat Room refer to me it by that name now too. Not that I mind. Not at all actually. I have always been one that is fond of Nicknames and so what if it’s a little derogatory? Its not like I have done anything to hurt anyone or to intentionally spite. Its just a harmless bit of fun and after all if you cant laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at. I have to confess though I did get revenge (so to speak) with Neil when I was on air with him earlier this week. He had mentioned to me, while on Hold prior to going on air, that he had a thing for and quite liked “Hairy Bottoms”. So during our brief chat on the air I stopped him and said, “What’s this I hear you have a thing for Hairy Bottoms?”. The silence he gave me was histerical. Its not often you shut up a radio presenter after all. Bless him. I wouldn’t do it to anyone I didn’t like and Neil is one of the best. Really lovely guy. Catch him presently covering Sam Vangeen’s show from 1400 – 1700, Monday to Friday and Saturday morning on Gaydar Radio, Sky Channel 0158, DAB Digital Radio in London and the South East and via the interweb at www.gaydarradio.com If you have trouble accessing via the web try www.gaydar.co.uk/jaffa_joe . Joe is a friend of mine and has somehow got a link to the station from his profile. If anyone can work out how this is done can you let me know, please? Ill pay you (In Kind!) Yeewhore! Hehe 

Neils usual Slot ( no pun intended) is Breakfast Mon – Fri from 0700 – 1100. Check out the hilarious combination of Neil & Jason as they get you up with the fresh & funky mix or music & shenanigans.

So my long weekend will commence as soon as I finish work today. (approximately around 1530). I have already packed my suitcase. Not like me at all. I have been known to go on a two week holiday to California and still not have packed when I get home from the nightclub Crash at 7AM and my flight is 1100 from Heathrow. I guess its an excitement thing.

As long as the weather is dry and its half as much fun as previous years it will be a blast.

This year will be the first Brighton Pride for both Emily & Gill. (Brighton Pride Virgins). Emily & I have a thing about not pronouncing our letter R’s. I don’t know why? Its just a Posh Thing that started when we were in the Algarve in May. It just founded posh to always drop your R’s, especially when you were talking about or with Judith Chalmers who lives next door to mum (She’s really nice and not the Orange colour everyone expects her to be). So with the letter R being dwopped we are meeting at the Gwand for for Champagne Bwunch and then on to Pweston Pawk faw Bwighton Pwide and lashings and lashings of Ginger Beer.

With any luck I will meet up with the whole gang, Jaffa Joe, Gary, Neil, Jason, Gizmo, Pojocarr, Partytone – the entire chatroom entourage. The funny thing is that I have met them all bar Gizmo and he and I are like the longest serving members of the chat room community. Well he does live in the Midlands and I don’t get up there as much as I used to (well unless I am on my way to make a review of the Greenhouse in Darlaston and that doesn’t count as its all for the sake of the book.

Plus in addition to the Gaydar Chat room boys (I want to call them the Fraternity of listeners – Hmm – side thought here, if we are like a Fraternity, I shall be the Frat King and therefore the boys will have to do an initiation service like they do at Fraternities within the American College system. Could be fun – I like the sound of that.

Who else is coming? Well the Leather Queens, Mark & Richard, Little Stuart (who’s far from little), Lee & his boys, Mikey, Alex, Steven & Michael. Hardly surprising that with so many of us down for the weekend I am looking forward to it. Happy Pride Everyone, see you at the Coast!

Oh dear Mr Chops

I was ever so excited this morning as I got up early and packed my geat together for a day at work and then off to see Madonna this evening. Only I didnt go to see Madonna this evening. Marcus Chops had gotten the day wrong all along and its not this evening at all but next Wednesday! Good job we realised this morning and not when we got to the gates of Wembley. So I have two things to still look forward to, Brighton Pride & Madonna. (Two things in the coming week).

Its been one of those years where you just know its going to be a whole lot of fun. Besides Euro Pride, Soho Pride & Brighton Pride, there will be Gaydar Days at Thorpe Park on Sept 2nd & then Gaydar Days at Alton Towers for the whole Weekend September 29th to October 1st. Pool Parties, Private functions and the park open just to us gay boys and girls. What more fun could you ask for? To book tickets to Gaydar days go to www.gaydardays.co.uk

In the mean time, come find me in Brighton at the weekend and check back to this site for updates post the weekend.

Happy Pride Everyone - Rock on Gaydar Radio!

Ladies (well us boys) that do Lunch

>
My friend Neil often says I am a lady that does Lunch. Well, why not indeed. Especially when work call you up the day before and say that due to no fault of your own there is no need to go to work today on full pay (Lucky Bitch.

So this evenings plans of meeting my friend John for dinner were bought forward. With a whole day at our expense John insisted we see something of the city and so started the day with a quick tour of Kensington Palace, former home to Diana Princess of Wales.
Having lived in London all of my life it was one of the many places I had yet to visit and sadly we had to rush through the audio tour so as not to be late for our luncheon engagement.

The Staterooms of Kensington Palace really are something but I particularly enjoyed the pictures of Diana. Its always interesting to hear about the unique history our wonderful country has to offer.

Starting the tour and hearing how the upper classes used to be invited to court to meet with the Royalty. In fact something that happened until as late as the 1950s when in post war Britain it seemed inappropriate with changing times.

The Palace was stunning and the Gardens even more so as we made our way across Kensington Gardens and down to Knightsbridge for our Lunch at the Restaurant at Harvey Nicholls. John is one of the few gentlemen that I know that really appreciates things of class and taste and so a fabulous, yet pricey, luncheon was had. I enjoyed Fois Gras, Seared Angus Beef and a selection of cheeses along with some Bordeaux and couple of glasses of the finest champagne (Lucky Bitches).

After that it was a short taxi journey to the Victoria & Albert Museum. John being my informative tour guide tells me that the Great Exhibition of 1851 made so much money with its 6 million visitors that it was from this money that the land was purchased on which now stands the Victoria & Albert, Natural History & Science Museums. We wandered around the V&A for a couple of hours taking in such awesome art work that cant be described in words.

a spot of tea in one of the Museums inner Courts that would not have looked out of place in Rome, such amazing architecture. In fact, all I can do is put pictures up to explain.

Fabulous day out, discovering the treasures of our beloved capital City.

Tomorrow…. Madonna Show Tickets (Lucky Bitches)
