Having had a major fault with my Laptop back in November and then suddenly the blue screen of death, I called up the Tech Guys (part of PC World) and my not so cheap insurance policy on the laptop. Still in the three years of owning the laptop they did have to take it in three times and the policy does cover for replacement of a broken computer even if it is accidental damage.
So in December 2007 they came and took the PC away and while they offered me a loan machine in the interim, I unfortunately declined, as usually the machine is back in my posession within a couple of weeks.
By February, having heard nothing I called them and asked if they had any news on my broken PC. I was told "We tried to deliver it back to you on January 31st".
I then spent every other day in February calling them and chasing the location of my laptop. Often being told it was at their workshop in Macclesfield or that they didnt know where it was. Clearly this was a lie as after at least 12 phone calls I finally recieved in the post vouchers for a new laptop. Clearly they had lost it all along. If only they could have told me this a month ago.
Still armed with my vouchers I headed off to the out of town shopping centre and found myself a new model with double the memory of my old machine. In addition I decided I needed a new printer / scanner / fax and the new wireless ones were reduced. Plus an upgrade to Office 2007. The new laptop runs Windows Vista. I feel so out of touch with Microsoft products, having been caught up with the CRM market at work for the past 3 years. So now I not only have a couple of new toys, I have new software to find my way around so I may teach this in the future too.
I came home last night after we finally ordered our new sofa. It could of course take up to 8 weeks to arrive, but at least we have found one that we like. Sitting on the floor gets a little uncompfortable at times.
I then installed the Scanner/Printer and have spent the evening going through all of my Disney Albums and uploading pictures from my Disney Days. It seems mad that even though it it was only 12 years ago this was a time when all photos were on Kodak Paper and this is the first chance I have had to get them in a Digital format.
I can imagine it will take me a lot of nights home to get them all finally scanned and onto my computer. Once I do, I shall be sure to post more.
Now the gym calls. I am meeting Mikey for Luncheon today and have to get to the gym for a bit first. Have a fabulous Day :-)
