You know it seems these days you can not glance at the media without feeling negative. Banks about to go bankrupt and end up under nationalisation. Mainstream companies are folding left right and centre. Meanwhile the entire country is scared beyond belief. Nobody knows if there job is safe. If the recession will last one year or two. If the hope that everyone has right now with Barrack Obama taking the office of presidency. Nobody knows what will happen.
Reading the news this evening the pound has taken another battering. RBS and Lloyds have lost most of their value and the fact that the one thing that Brits love to do, travel abroad makes it really gloomy.
Now add to that the fact that its wet, cold, grey and drab, everyone is feeling the blues.
But this could be different if it wasnt so glum in our fair land. If you got service with a smile and treated well. This morning I left my train at before 745AM and were met by a team of little hitlers at the ticket booth. Far from the trains providing people to assist and help people through they are only offering staff for one thing. Profits. To sue and ensure anyone with an incorrect ticket gets a criminal record. Its discusting. They make 30 Million per francise for 6 months of providing a service and still their greedy. Its gross beyond belief. Further more, the train companies have applied to the government for permission to cut services and reduce the length of trains, despite an increase of between 6-10% on fares this month. Why? Their passenger numbers have not risen as much as expected. 5.5% instead of 7%. Can the staff of Zavvi, MFI or Woolworth request less stores or less operating hours? No? Can they up prices 8-10 percent overnight? No? Who gave these francisee's the liscense to be so arrogant and greedy? Surely its time for a change here like in America. A time for the peoples revolution. Where we stand up and say, enough is enough, we will not allow this country to fail. We will not allow our rights to be taken. We will not allow the government to take every right we have. But it takes something in return. We all must work hard now, labour. Cut back a little and be a little thrift till it all eases over and a boom time returns. Till then, would the little hitlers at the gate have a little courtesy, after all we pay your salaries.
