Loving my new home even more

Having settled into our new flat and now knowing even more of our neighbours, the once a month gay event at one of the appartments fell to the hands of newish and rather dishy resident, Steve.

He has a larger apartment with roof terrace in the Nebraska building. He hosted a most fabulous party with BBQ last night. Met loads of the boys. Callum, Robin, Thomas, Matt as well as some from outside the complex like Jay & Tony.

Had a great night, a little bit to drink and a great time had by all.

Woke this morning to a text from Steve inviting us to a post BBQ, Barbeque. Spent the afternoon at Steves on the roof enjoying some BBQ and drinks with Robin, Thomas, Dusan and Steve.

After a quiet bored weekend last week it was a great 2 days and I have quite a tan to finish it off.

Next week : London Pride.

New Smile

With my veneers almost ten years old and them causing my gums some iritation my dentist has been telling for a for a couple of years I needed to replace my Veneers. Reluntantly I could wait no longer and so arranged the visit to get them done. Friday!

From 1000 - 1800 it would be just me at the Dentist. Firstly, after a shot of Lignacain he drilled the first he marked up my gums ready for the Gum realignment. Marking where he would not touch with a marker pen. Placing a device to hold my lips open in my mouth he used a lazer to hand shape my new gum line ready for my new shaped teeth.

Once the gums were done and another shot of anasthetic he drilled the first old veneer off, quite painless, but it left the teeth sensitive and thus the lignacain.

Once the first old was off he began to design the new one which the diamond encrusted lazer cut while we waited. Meanwhile they got me a coffee and a computer with internet access.

This was repeated until all four were carved and ready. Even though he scrapped one to start again. Quite the perfectionist my dentist.

Finally they were ready to clean my real teeth and glue the veneers to them. It was preety painless and I cant believe they managed to match my real teeth colour almost 100%.

The gums need a little healing for a few days and I have to wash them with anasthetic for a week, but all in all, job is done. I cant believe I was in and out in a day and didnt need to go away and wait two weeks while the new ones were made! Way to go dental Spa. Thanks Dr Rojan.

Its fun to be at the YMCA

After over 4 years absence I have finally made it back to being a member of the YMCA in central London. It was the first gym I joint in the city and found back 10 years ago that it was so much more than just a gym. It was a social hub in the heart of London.

With 5000 members and set over four floors underground, offering over 100 excercise classes per week and some of the friendliest staff of any gym I have ever known. It does make you wonder why I ever left in the first place other than I moved out of London and it was a bit uneconomical to travel all the way in just to work out.

So I am now back and have managed to do my 3 work outs there this week without much of a problem. Of course all of the cuties that there are make it worth going if just for the eye candy.

It was really nice to see some of my old friends from years back there. The Y was one of those clubs you could go to with full intention to go for a workout and end up chatting to good friends for an hour before all going out to dinner or a movie.

It was the club that when I moved to London and knew nobody, suddenly I had friends at the Y.

Whats even better is that these days with your membership we have access to over 85 different gyms all over London.

I am pleased to be able to say I did a full two hours of both weights and Cardio. I was actually quite dissapointed when the intercom announced that they were closing in 30 minutes and would all members please make their way to the changing rooms.

Finally, they have just began a program of refurbishment. New equipment, extensions to some of the rooms, new changing facilities and all for the same great price. So hopefully I can keep up the new regime and manage to loose a stone or so before the full onset of summer.

European Union Constitution

Sometimes you see something on the news that gives you a little bit of relief. Like when the Irish, very sensibly in my eyes, rejected the new EU constitution Treaty, AKA the Lisbon Treaty. The very same treaty that our government promised us a referendum on as part of their election pledge, then only failed to give us one in the end, scared that we, the British people, like the Irish, might vote no. The constitution needs all 27 Members to agree for it to be passed and into effect.

So it did turn my stomach when our now Prime Minister, was seen on the news demanding that the Irish re think this vote of no confidence and adopt the said consitution that he, Gordon Brown, signed without the treaty they promised. The same Prime Minister who took over from Tony Blaire without winning an election or the vote of the British Public.

The same Prime Minister that after the last local elections and they lost something like 422 seats promised to listen to the people and lead the people. Over a month on, he fails to listen to the peoples needs. Clearly the removal of the 10% tax rate was not listening. By not offering the people of this country and referendum on the EU Constitution he is still not listening.

With fuel prices rising and a recession possibly looming the people would like for help from our government. Like the Federal Government who sent a cheque to everyone on the electoral to help them with the rising costs. Naturally the British Government could not do this. They have no money. They had to spend it all on stopping the run on Northern Rock bank. Estimates state that the Government has now spent in excess of £50 Billion on Northern Rock.

Meanwhile during the latest debate on the EU Treaty, all of the countries leaders met to discuss where the consitution could go now to get all members on board.

As part of the discussions the French Leader, President Nicola Sarkozy suggested they put a Europpean wide cap on the amount of VAT that can be taken on fuel. To help ease the tax burden on European states. Something that would be welcomed by all. Mr Brown however decided that in the best interest discussions should be made with OPEC on increasing production.

Mr Brown reminds me much of a parent that always has to get their own way. You can ask "Why", as many times as you like but the only answer you will recieve is, "Because I said so".

Mr Brown, with your promise that you would end Boom and Bust culture. What happened? With the country in your hands we need your help when things go wrong. You have the power to lower taxes and cap limits on VAT within Europe yet you choose not too. It does make you wonder what they do with all of the tax we pay? Getting OPEC to increase production is not within your power, but changing tax limits is.

It makes me wonder if there is an even bigger picture hidden. Of debts beyond our immagination that he as chancellor has managed to hide.

But aside from wonder, I do know one thing. It doesnt matter who you talk to today. Nobody trusts him. He didnt win an election, his training way behind in the Opinion Polls and it reminds me of when I left school. All I had known, forever, was a Tory Government. People get to a stage where they want a change.

Don't get me wrong. I think they have done a great job over the past 11 years. Equal rights, introduction of Civil Partnerships to name but a few. I'm also pro European on many sides. We have been war free within the EU states since the founding of the EU. We can travel without hindrance within the member states. But this constitution? Signing over more power to Brussells who do things like try and ban Prawn Cocktail flavour crips, pay farmers not to grow food and ban Bananas that happen to bend when there are starving people around the world.

I am gratefull that the Irish refused the Constitution as I believe their actions are representative of our own nations. So what if Germany and Spain want it to go through. We dont have to bow to every whim Europe has Mr Brown. After all, you dont bow to a singe one of ours. Do what you promised. Open you ears and listen to your people.

PS - I was right about Alex from Big Brother. I just didnt realise she would be kicked out rather than voted out.

Alex from BIg Brother

Is it me or does it amaze you sometimes how dumb someone can be about their own actions.

Tonight on Big Brother (when I briefly switched over from the documentary on Ten years of Viagra) Big brother was asking Alex to be more considerate of her actions towards other house mates.

Even to big brother she was argumentative, insisting that she was not islolating and being agressive towards the other housemates, when anyone who has watched even one episode will see that she is clearly self centred and cares about nobody but herself.

I know that I am not alone in my thoughts about her as during last weeks eviction (Yes I was home alone on Friday night before going to the George and Dragon with my friend and neighbour Thomas), the audience outside the Big Brother house were litteraly chanting in unison, "Get Alex Out, Get Alex Out". I can only presume that Channel Four think that selfish people like this make good viewing. Still at least she is up for eviction this week. But who will be evicted? You decide!

This evening I have been chilling on my own, having had a glass of Merlot and as always, wishing for an early night. Why can I never get to sleep? Creepy noises make my skin creep. I cant get no sleep!!

I have never been able to sleep since I was a young boy. I could often lie there awake until 2 or 3 AM unable to doze off. Maybe I just to hyperactive for sleep?

Meanwhile, my workout at my new gym on Monday seems to have made a difference already. I couldnt even raise my hands above my head today which made peeling my shirt off very difficult. I can see visable growth on my Biceps, Triceps and Pecs. I may be too late for six weeks to summer but I will make a good go of it from now forth.

Hustlaball, London, 2008

The advertisments read, The Hustlaball is a World of Hustlers, Hookers, Pimps, streetwalkers, Flesh-Peddlers, Porn Stars and other scandalous Sorts. Naturally I had to go along just to see what all of the hype was about. After all the thought of meeting face to face Lukas Rigeston or Chi Chi La Rue was a little too tempting. What did they say curiosity did to the cat?

Dusan was working a late shift (Again) so I was trying to find someone to come with when a friend of mine, Anthony, from online said he would come with me.

We arrived early as we didnt have tickets and I immediately saw a few people I knew. Donal, Phil Marriott and a few porn stars we both knew. Cristian Torrent, Dean Monroe and a few we recognised but couldnt tell you their name.

I bumped into Shaun and Mike a bit later and by 2AM the entire place was heaving. Both Depot and Area completely packed to the rafters.

Still its not every day you get to meet the stars of stage and screen and an interesting and fun night was had. I think they will need to find a bigger venue if Hustla returns to London in 2009.

Mikey and Movie

Around 1900 tonight I had a text from Mikey asking if we were around tonight and he came over around 8PM.

After a few chats and a drink and discovering my new gift. A keyring that changes pictures of naked men every 3 seconds. Somehow he said he saw this and thought of you. LOL.

We had received a DVD of the Andromedia Strain from my DVD club today but it said it was 170 minutes long. We decided we would watch some of it and see how it goes. When it ended after 90 minutes, we thought it was strange. Then suddenly, when retreiving the DVD I noticed it said on it, "Disk 2". We had only watched, unbeknown to us, watched DVD 2 and not even noticed. Opps. Must have been the wine eh?

Well cant have been that good if we didnt notice eh? But great, as always to see Mikey.

Cant sleep due to the Heat

I hate nights like this. Its so warm and close inside the flat that even with the window open I feel like its boiling.

Back in Nazeing this was fine. The Air Conditioner was set so that the hose was out of the window and if it got hot all I had to do was turn it on. But here, in London, I dont even have it connected to the hose and to drag it into the bedroom and conect it all would certainly wake up Dusan. He hates it cold. He likes to tell me his catching a cold from us having the window open in the summer, when in actual fact that is far healthier than having it closed and no fresh air in the room at all.

Its now 235AM and I have been unable to sleep due to the heat. I got up ten minutes ago, dragged through into the lounge the Airconditioner and currently have it running on full blast cooling down the lounge so I can cool off and relax a bit. Its really one of those hot silent still nights where you sometimes need just a bit of air.

I have suggested we buy a small chrome fan for the bedroom but get told I am crazy, after all we have an air conditioner and a huge fan. Neigther am I allowed to us. Apparantly they make too much noise or make him far too cold.

So I guess I have to just sit up all night, unable to sleep and all due to the heat that could be cured with the air conditioner. I guess thats married life for you. You never can always get your own way.

Home is becoming an even more fabulous place to live

Dusan was having a power nap last night from 8 PM so I invited our neighbour Thomas over for a glass of Pimms as we watched the Sunday Night Project. Dusan then woke and Thomas suggested we go to the local gay pub the George and Dragon. We had driven past it on dozens of occasions and always thought how sad it was that the place had closed down. Unbeknown to us it was far from closed but doesnt open until gone 9PM and is apparantly really busy at weekend.

So we quickly threw on some summery clothes and took the three minute walk up Shooters Hill to the George and Dragon. Its what you would call a typical English style Pub. There was a drag act on stage on Sunday evening, Tiffany something or other. She sang live and Thomas and I joined in to Copacobana. Have to confess her singing was better than the comedy.

Once the act was over we walked to the other side of the bar where another neighbour, Matt, was standing. Meanwhile, new boy on the development, sexy Steve, joint us and the five us managed to entertain ourselves thanks to the G&D till the hours of Monday morning before making the small stagger distance home to flat.

We also discovered that there is another local gay bar, just in Greenwich town centre, the Rose and Crown. It seems we are loving our new home more and more as we make more friends and discover more of the local things to do. :-)

0 Deg 0, 00"

With both Dusan and I off for the day and with the sunshine suddenly out and at a glorious 26 degrees (80 Degrees F), we decided to make the most of the day and head out to the park and get some sun.

Dusan had to go to the Dentist first thing and the two of us heaed out to the DLR and down to Cutty Sark and then through the town centre and up to the Royal Park.

We found a little spot in the shade where we could both read for a while and check out the local talent in the park. Dusan had never been to the Royal Observatory so we made a walk up the hill stopping mid way to take some pictures of the Naval College and Canary Wharf behind it in the sunshine.

Once at the top we stoped and looked at the Clock which sets all time and took a walk around the full royal obsorbatory and saw the original telescopes and the room built by sir Christopher Wren. Once outside and in the courtyard we found the Meridian Line. The actual point that represents 0 Degree's, 0, 00" Longitude. Did you know that Longitude is measured by distance in time from Greenwich and the actual Meridian Line? Having researched since we live at; Latitude = 51.4741, Longitude = -0.0217 or rather: Long = 0 degrees, 1.3 minutes West. Even I learn something new every day.

Of course it was obligatory that we took pictures with our legs astride the Meridian. Dusan immediately called me a slapper saying I had my legs in two deifferent time zones at the same time, then asked me to take his picture doing exactly the same thing! It was a fun day out and best of all, cost nothing but the £2 DLR fare.

Once home we both spent 90 minutes at the gym before a healthy dinner. I have finally begun my food diary and want it to be a good representation of a nice healthy diet. Still aiming to be a stone lighter before Pride season in just under 4 weeks.

Pictures from Cruise

Well I finally managed to upload the pictures from the Sailor Boys Cruise last sunday, but unfortunately they are in reverse order.

For best results, please go to the bottom of this Blog and view the pictures in the correct order from bottom to top.

Enjoy the sites of our truly fabulous city.
