When Mikey invited me to a Thames Cruise Party this past Sunday, remembering the fun we had in the summer of 2006 I gladly accepted. In the end 12 of us ended up going including, Kenton, Robbie, Mark & Richard, Chops, Woody & Steve and the lovely Emily. We all met up just after 1630 at Temple Pier and boarded just before 1700. Emily borrowed a sailors outfit from Mikey and so was dressed fabulously and draw a lot of attention from the photographers. Ironic if we all make the gay press whne it was becasue of a lady.
A BBQ was served up on deck and Kenton clevery managed to get a Table perfect for seeing the sites of London.
As the ship pulled out of dock the breeze was enough to make it nippy but we sat and sipped on drinks and caught up with friends while enjoying the magnificent sites of our wonderfull city.
The Savoy, Blackfriars, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, City Airport and through the Thames flood barrier. This was as far as any cruise had taken me before.
However as the disco boogied on the lower decks we were taken out beyond the Flood barrier and East past the Power Plants of Essex and the wind farms and even beyond the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at Dartford before turning back and revisiting the sites on a now darkening night as the city began to light up.
We all had a good drink, good dance and plenty of fun and definitely a night we will all remember as one of the best of the year. Happy Sailing and see you next time Sailor Boys. Ahoy.
