Working up a sweat

With the hottest day of the year so far, a barmy 29 degree's was the high today, I was too hot to simply sit in the flat all day.

I was up early to do a phone in for my friend Neil Sexton on Gaydar Radio. Then did a million emails, filled some paperwork and played online a bit while Dusan went over to the gym in the complex. I then had a shower, packed my gym bag and headed off my gym in town.

Especially now that I have more time on my hands I go to my main gym in town when I really want to have a good workout. I got there around 345 and managed started on the cross trainer, with the intention of doing a ten minute warm up. But when you hit "Auto Start" it defaults to 25 minutes and as I was just getting going decided to do more than just a ten minute warm up. 30 minutes and a fair few calories later I was ready to do my 45 minutes of weights. Being Friday the place is far quieter and easier to get on all the equipment you want to.

I then did a follow up 25 minutes on a different program of cross training until my knees and ancles were beging to ache and headed off to shower. Funny how it takes forever to get into going to the gym and then suddenly I want to go every day and really enjoy it. The 6 - 7 Kilos I have lost in 5 weeks is great. Makes you really feel good and that its worth the while.

Tomorrow, lunch at Emily's.
