Well with just a matter of days to go in true to be wed style Dusan and I have been seperated for weekend of debortary.
Dusan,Carlos & Marcus will do London Pride, Area and the Colluseum, while Mikey and I are checking out the sites in Amsterdam.
Our flight was late leaving but we found ourselves wandering down the road to our hotel around 5pm. A nice appartment style hotel in the heart of the city, bordering on the Red Light District. Now I had heard stories but I guess nothing really prepares you for whats in store.
As you walk down the street the Waff of Marujanna comes flowing from the endless coffee shops as its legalised. Every 3rd shop has a marajuana leaf in the window. Further down nearer the canals and the neon signs you see the prositutes standing in the windows trying to flaunt their wears. When we walked down a particuarly narrow alleyway, Mikey was caught by one of the ladies wearing nothing but underwear she asked "Why dont you come in for some fun". Little did she know that his a big old poof.
After a Chinese dinner we found our way to the gay district and seemed to have walked hours. A quick shower later we decided to take it easy and stay local tonight and so went to the recommened Gay Bar Cock Ring. At 1030pm it felt like a school disco as people were lining the sides with drinks, but like every venue in Amsterdam being beju in size, they fill quite easily with a large selection of cuties.
I dont know if it was sheere exhaustion or just old age but we only lasted till around 1:00am when the strippers had finished on stage. Funny they never let the audience touch the strippers when we saw them at the white Swan. We made our way back to the hotel up our windy little street filled with its Neon Signs, Pot Smoking Coffee shops and prosititues on every corner. I suddenly came to the realisation that this was exactly like Diagonally from Harry Potter.
Off to Van Gogh this morning. More soon. TTFN

Motivation Needed in a Trish Free Zone
Yesterday kind of went really fast at the office. I was busy helping Anita do Rotas and Trish to write Queries for consultants. Today is a Trish Free Day. Its her 9 Year old boys Birthday and so she's gotten the whole day off. That leaves me to find the self motivation to drag myself into London and find the will to get through another day in the world of recruitment.
Yesterday I was asked by our boss why so many (5 now) have left the project. It was like they simply dont have a clue as to how unhappy people are. The Powers that be seem to be completley blind as to their ability to make people unhappy. Its very difficult turf being asked what can be done to make people happy when you are far from Happy yourself.
They seemed obvlivious to the fact that the day they cut our Saturday and Sundays work at 2 days notice and that they refused to pay us any cancellation fee as per the contract. They insisted that 7 days cancellation meant they had to give 7 days to cancell our entire contract and not in regards to any actual days work. That was just the begining. With half the team around the country at different sites supporting clients we are all a mish mash of feelings of dispondance.
I have promised to try and lift spirits but without Trish at the office today I am not sure I even want to go in. I have just remembered exactly how much I dont enjoy working in the West End. Just another pointer as to what is making people unhappy. Working until 1730. Well clearly they dont realise that Training usually ends by 1630. And while it may sound like I am just having a winge, its all of these little pointers adding up and making the tension worse and worse.
So as I pull myself together to get dressed and make my way in I am begining to wonder what joys the day has in hold. I have to be positive, think happy thoughts, put on my ipod and prepare to brace the nasty journey into town.
Come back soon Trish!

Back to Soho
I cant say I was particuarly pleased to be getting up this morning. I probably hate my current job at a score of ten out of ten which is most unlike me. I usually love my job. Let me retract that. I do love my job, Training. But all of this sitting around is driving me insane.
Instead of flying to Amsterdam on Thursday for a 2 week period of training I am being sent back into the Soho Square office to do yet more prep work. Having spent in excess of six weeks learning the software, writing training materials and generally getting ready for the 10 week roll out, everything has now been put on hold for a further 3 weeks.
For 3 weeks I have been away from home, up in Nottingham and Birmingham staying no more than a five minute commute from my Hotel to the office. So to say I am looking forward to going in this morning, looking forward to the Rat Race of standing all the way to the office on an over packed train, which will probably be so hot that it would be illegal to transport cattle in such a way, is somewhat of an understatement.
I won't let it get to me though. We have all promised to be upbeat and positive and keep each other going. Not an easy task when the project team feels much like the Mary Celest. 2 More quit on Friday and 2 more the previous Tuesday. How they will fill the shoes of those that are missing I dont know. I'm guessing word has gotten out about what a shambles they are to work for. But I guess I will soldier on.
Still its a short week for me. Mikey and I are off to Amsterdam for a long weekend. :-) 9 Days to the wedding! Where did that time fly by to?

Wise words from Auntie Linda
My Auntie Linda wrote me some very kind, wise and touching words and I just felt I had to share them with you.
I post these words so that even if the Email is lost or destroyed those words will be saved forever.
As the 4th July fast approaches my days as a single man are very much numbered but I fear not the future, for I know I shall be spending it with my Soul mate. Dusan Stojnovic. Love of my life!
In life, everything that is worth having is worth fighting for. I have found that the things which came easily are not treasured or valued but when I have had to fight tooth and nail to achieve something, then it has meaning and I do value it because I know what I went through to save it, get it, or possess it.
You and Duan have been through enough and now the day is drawing near when you will be able to look back and say "it was all worth it - we are together and we have the rest of our lives as a lovely adventure". You will treasure that relationship because it was hard fought for. I have found too Neil, especially since I have been ill and have had time to reflect, the most important things in life are relationships. The people you love and care for. There may be only a few but that does not matter so long as who you do love, loves you back and that it is real. Money and possessions are nothing compared to the love of those special people. If you just have a few special "loves" you are rich because some people go through their whole lives and do not ever experience the love you and Dusan have for each other. It does not matter that your rings are only silver, they could be curtain rings it is what they stand for and represent that is important. They could be encrusted with diamonds but to the two of you what they represent is never ending love that goes on continuously not the value of the jewels or the weight of the gold, those things mean nothing.
You just be proud of yourself. Always listen to your heart, go with your gut instincts (cos you are no fool) and give your love freely. That is what will make you a KING.. I am sad that you find it difficult to talk to your Mum and Dad, but often, it is the people close to you that you can find hardest to open up to. It is not their fault but perhaps they have deep rooted prejudices and cannot over come them. Give them time Neil, let them see how happy you are and I am sure that they will eventually, have to recognise love in whatever form it comes because love is all that is important. I want you to read from the bible Corinthians Chapter 13 verse 1 to 13 under the heading Love. When you have read that I think you will then fully understand how important "Love" is.
"I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching: I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets: I may have all the faith needed to move mountains - but if I have no love this does me no good.
Love is patient and kind: it is not jealous or conceited or proud: love is not ill mannered or selfish or irritable: love does not keep a record of wrongs: love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth: Love never gives up: and it's faith hope and patience never fail.
Love is eternal. There are inspired messages but they are temporary: there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues but they will cease: there is knowledge but it will pass. For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial: but when what is perfect comes then what is partial will disappear.
When I was a child my speech, feelings and thinking were all those of a child: now that I am a man I have no more use for childish ways. What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. What I know now is only partial: then it will be complete - as complete as God's knowledge dof me.
Meanwhile, these three remain: Faith, Hope and LOVE and the greatest of these is LOVE."
I post these words so that even if the Email is lost or destroyed those words will be saved forever.
As the 4th July fast approaches my days as a single man are very much numbered but I fear not the future, for I know I shall be spending it with my Soul mate. Dusan Stojnovic. Love of my life!

The Dangerous School for Boys
I am presently watching TV in my hotel bedroom. The Dangerous school for boys. Its about a chap of 35 who runs a private Boys School in France and brings them up on Traditional values.
While I didnt go to Private School my parents bought us up to hold true values. Hold the door open for ladies, offer to others before you take for yourself and that sort of thing. But what it really reminded me of was our time away in the summer on Camps. We may have lived in a small village where not a lot happens but summers were fun. Six weeks of Summer included virtually every year from the age 11 upwards a week away camping with the local scout group and another week away with the Church youth group, Juco's and Covenenters. Scouts was fun and you learnt the sort of things that the boys on the show are learning. How to light a fire, put up a tent, camp songs and learning new skills. (I never could manage to roll the flag properly so it came out when we pulled on it to salute it). The other week away was something different all together and while I have fond memories of my times away with the Scouts, Church Camp was a class of its own. We all took the trip in a rented Mini Bus to a boys school in Winchester. Naturally it being the summer holidays the school was closed for the summer and so for a week we took up residence in what can only be discribed as an English version of Hogwarts. It was a huge old Stately home style place with Dormitorys and huge playing fields, a swimming pool and a massive dinning room with the names of all the winning heads of team from years gone past for over 100 years.
Every Morning we would be woken by the Elders to quickly dress and come down to breakfast. Naughty boys were woken by an ice cold bucket of water. Never nice. Especially when your bed is damp the following evening. After Breakfast in the grand hall we were broken into our four house teams (just like Hogwarts) where as teams we had to compete in different events. Swimming, Hockey, Arts & Crafts. Every evening meal time we would be awarded the points. Points were given for the winning team in each event of the day and further points for Teammanship and Comradery.
After the evening meal we all made our way to the Assembly hall where we would listen to speakers, watch movies, sing songs and perform sketches and plays before Lights out back in the dorms once more. One day during the week all of the officers would dress in fancy dress costumes, maybe a Sailor, a Tramp, a Pearly King and hide themselves somewhere in Winchester City Centre while all of the boys were kept at the School. 30 Minutes later we were given the password to ask them. "Is it True that Padre wears Tights?" "Do you hang your Teddy Bear from a Flag pole?" and other such nonesense. The object of the game was to find the officers and say the password. If you said it correct you won a ticket. The person with the most officers found and most tickets earned wins. Of course when you see someone and they are actually a member of public and you ask them "Do you have fluff in your bellybutton?" you get some strange looks.
It really was fun times but I guess like many things you dont appreciate them as much at the time.
And they were my summers away with Camp. Fablous eh? Night night.

Perfect Relationship
This week has been the first time I have spent more than a couple of days away from Dusan at a time since he moved in with me in Jauary. I was working in Birmingham till 1800 on Friday and had to be back to check into my hotel this evening for an 0800 start tomorrow. So rather than spend half of the weekend driving down and up the M6 and M1 I stayed up. Birmingham has one of the most vibrant and condensed gay scenes in the UK with the entire gay village set around Hurst Street. I've never counted them but with over a dozen bars and several clubs it would be rude not to explore one or two.
So after work Friday and a quick naughty bite to eat (for when you cant be bothered to sit in a restaurant with a book all on your own there is always McDonalds. Yes its bad for you, but its delicious). Oh I also stopped at Tesco Metro for a bottle of Vino to wet the pallet. One bottle of Vino and half a McDonalds Meal later I was half sloshed as I headed down to Hurst Street some 15 minutes walk away. This evening was hosting XXL at DV8. Its a club for Bears and their admirers. I guess with my recent weight gain I probably could be classed as a cub (Young Bear) but who knows. The great thing about XXL is that its so uninibited and completely without any of the bitchiness or the nastiness that the gay scene can hold. XXL welcomes everyone. After all their logo is "One Club fits all". The music was fantastic, the crowd friendly and the drinks were cheap. Now switching to bear (oops Beer) may not have been the smartest move and possibly why I am almost the correct size to fit into XXL. I wont complain, I know the real reason to my size increase is the fact that I am in love and content at living with the man of my life.
I managed to get home to the hotel around 0200 and amazingly slept for a full 12 hours! Isnt that an amazing feeling when you sleep that long and dont realise its that late until you wake up. Like the reverse of when you wake up early and think, Poo I could have slept in today.
Having woken at 1400 and absolutely shattered I had wanted to spend my day at the ballring, Birminghams 140 Shop mega Mall right in the city centre. Of course, it was not to be. I was so shattered from the week at work and my nights fun at XXL all I wanted to do was go back to the hotel room and chill. So after I bought the jeans I saw on a Mannequin in the shop window I wwent in and bought the said jeans. Nice butt huggers.
Post that, a sandwhich and the ties and cufflinks we were missing for the Civil Partnership and I was ready to head back to the hotel. Just time to stop at the Tesco Metro and pick up some food for the evening. Hmm, what should it be? 2 bottles of Shiraz, a Chicken Salad and a Yoghurt. All fits in within the £20 per night meal allowance we get.
Back in the hotel room I glued into Dr Who (Wow good episode) and Britains Got Talent, before a nice long soak in the bath and a bottle of Shiraz. Before I knew it it was 1030 and if I was going to leave it was time now or stay in for the night.
I made my way into town , down to Hurst Street and into Missing for a quick couple of drinks then the Gale. (Nightingale). It wasnt that busy and I was maybe too tired to enjoy it but I had fun non the less. Ariving back at hotel a little worn out in the early hours. Maybe the Shiraz and Beer had something to do with that.
Today I woke and missed Dusan more than ever. Never spent more than two days appart in six months so its not been easy. I called him several times throughout the day and then spoke to Marcus and Carlos this evening. They told me they were off to DTPM. I had spoken to Dusan and he sounded lonely and I know how much he would love to go to our faveourite club and when Marcus offered I thought, well it would be rude not too. So called Dusan and asked "Would you like to go to DT with Chops & Carlos? He sounded so excited when I mentioned it I just knew that I had made his day. And thus that is us, Dusan and I. The perfect relationship. Doing whatever the other needs to make them happy. Loving each other, caring for one another. I'm so lucky and in love and if that doesnt make me a Lucky Bitch I really dont know what does. But I am happy and ready to make him my husband!
Roll on Tuesday, I go home to him then. Until then, Goodnight. Love Neil x

Mutiny on the Bounty
Okay well not quite mutiny but dissertion amongst the ranks. Everyone is so upset at being kept in the dark over changes in working conditions, change of payment and being treated like kids. It really doesnt take that much to have a little courtesy does it?
Apparently this company is in the top 15 companies in the UK to work for. I have no idea what that selection process is but it certainly doesnt include providing toilet tissue in the bathrooms.
We are all waiting for a call to tell us whats happening. While we are scattered around the country I have missed the Inner Circle Lunch Club. That said, with the belly I have gained I should fast!
Still on a positive as we wait for an update teleconference, it is the weekend. Anyone in Birmingham?

Nottingham!
I've just spent the past six days in Nottingham with work. Its kind of a love hate relationship. On the one hand I hate being away from home for such a long time at a go, but on the other, its great that I get to travel and see another part of the world.
Cant say that I would really want to live in a city that small, but I did enjoy the visit. Work had me working Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday and even threw in Sunday pay for no work now thats "Lucky Bitches". Paid for doing nothing. Yahooo.
Thursday we had to do a course from 1730 to 2000. Its not hard. We just facilitate and introduce ourselves. Then Evan, Surinder and I met up with my dear friend David Nelson and Dusan (Well I waited this long to be with him, I was hardly going to leave him at home was I?) We went to a place called Big Wok. A Chinese style help yourself service buffet. All you can eat. Now i'm not usually into all you can eat buffets but this was like the 5 Star version. We had Soup, Peking Duck, Starters, Mains, Chocolate Fountain and dessert. My goodness did we feel rough after all that. So a few pound heavier we headed home to bed.
Friday I worked all day. David kept Dusan busy during the day and they went to peruse the merchandise at John Lewis prior to us setting up our wedding list there. (More on that in a moment). Then we met up post work for a drink and dinner.
Saturday was the first day of presenting. I was lead trainer so had to entertain the masses. I.E. Train a group of 14 recruitment consulants in using their new Siebel Software. Normally this would be fine, but the software went down at 1005 and thus installed no enthusiam into their confidence in its capability.
Having said that , it went swimmingly. Considering it was my first real attempt I cant complain. It went really well and I now have Siebel under my belt which is future promotion! Yeah.
Saturday Dusan, David and I went to John Lewis to register the Gift List. We got a free cake and coffee each which made us all happy. They give you a PDA that scans the items you want. was actually loads of fun but took forever and when the store was closing at 1730 had to leave :-(
Sunday, Paid day off - Heaven
Monday and Tuesday - Floorwalking aka Floorstalking. The Nottingham Consultants were the friendliest yet. Boy I missed Trish & Theresa. But it wasnt a bad trip.
Finally home sweet home and safe and sound.
Oh some good news. Mikey has booked a trip to Amsterdam and will join me on my last weekend as a single man in the world. I get married 3 weeks tomorrow. My biggest dream of all time is finally coming true. Now that really does make me 100% Lucky Bitch.
Much love to you all and a huge thank you for following my Blog.
Big love
Neil xx
PS - A Huge Congratualtions to Neil Sexton, Jason Rosam & RJ Mathius for completing the London Walk for Life on Sunday. Proud of you boys! XXX

XXX

Sun Days
It seems that Summer has finally arrived. Today was around 24 degrees and un interupted sunshine. We had talked about going to the RVT. Perfect place to spend a sunday chilling. But the idea of an 80 minute journey each way without air conditioning was kind of off putting. We are both begining to hate living so far out of town. The village may be fine if you are straight or old or even if you work locally. Take my father or Brother. Both of them have friends in the village, they both work at the firm just a couple of miles up the road. The Golf Club or Local Pub provide them with their entertainment needs. For us however its like Gay Hell. The only thing we do here is sleep. It may be a nice home but at the end of the day we feel like life is passing us by in the fast lane while we are stuck here watching it all go by without us.
Going down to the shops we feel like people stare, oh its so not easy being the only gays in the village.
We have had to stay put for a while as we needed to sort out Dusan's home office approval and still have the visa to sort post the wedding then it will be a definite case of relocation.
We think we have seen the complex we would like to live in, only they are all presently sold. If they have one go on the market soon I am sure we would be keen. It just seems sometimes that the world is against you. Finally I am in a position to buy a home and London prices are so high we cant afford it.
Still we spent a day doing something we couldnt do in London. Chilling in the garden in the sunshine with some Pinot Grigio. Bliss. Finally got a touch of sunshine. :-) Roll on the long warm summer!
