Its strange was we were only saying a few months ago, back when the price of oil was rising out of control and prices of everything were spiraling upward and upward that it would end up being a winter of discontent. Where the people had to get to a stage where they would take a stand and say enough is enough. If the state ran the utilities at least there would be some control over the Electricity and Gas people hiking prices by 50% as and when they please.
It amazes me that they actually thought that Privatisation of essential services would actually benefit the general public? Instead the private companies make millions and yet they have a monopoly. For the past 2 days my local train company has failed to run services, despite the fact I managed to get to work for 2 days running.
Getting off the train last night they only finally were starting to shovel the snow from the platforms.
So I am all in support of the strikers at the oil refinery and the nuclear plant. Not becuase they are striking for jobs for British people but for what they represent. The disheartened British Public. Sick of the people in charge (who has no respect from the public general as he didnt win an election), giving away our rights. Europe seems to rule our land now with their demands we cut landfill waste, cut emissions, close powerplants. Meanwhile they dont have solutions. Instead of cowering to Europe Mr Brown you should be standing up for our rights.
You signed the treaty noone wanted (despite the promise we would be given a referendum.) You wouldnt let us vote on the matter as you chickened out, scared we would say No. Well guess what? We would. You cowered and had less balls than Mrs Thatcher when you gave them back the £3 Billion rebate Mrs T negotiated for us? What did we get in return Mr Brown?
You traded the rights of the British people for political gain in the hands or the Eurocrats. We do not respect you Mr Brown. The people are sick of you and your corrupt party. We are sick of you having rules for us but disobey them yourselves. I would love to be able to not tell you of my income or how much I spend on things. How nice it would be to hide an income or perhaps have an allowance to pay for a whole second house. My biggest expense is my house, why should MPs have tax payers pay for theirs? Give them a council flat and make them live like the people. Its corruption at its worse. Now if I refused to file a tax return I could go to Prison. Your party fail to declaire certain incomes and its a tap on the wrists.
You made a royal screw up when you said "British Jobs for British People" and yet the refinery is providing British Jobs for Portugese & French workers and "I am the man that ended an era of Boom and Bust. My Brown, if you were a CEO we would have you by the balls right now. Why are they advertising £65,000 Olympic Jobs in Australia? Surely its time to stop visa's to non EU citizens. Support the people that pay tax and get the unemployed back in to work rather than having an open door policy to bring labour in. 3 Million plus unemployed is not helping the treasury.
Meanwhile if you want ideas to get the economy spending, how about removing Tax from Petrol. Prices would drop on delivery on everything. Even Wal Mart, owners of Asda have said its the cost of delivery that means they are unable to offer prices anywhere near those our American Cousins pay at Wal Mart.
You have lost the respect of the people and so I am fully behind the strikers. Behind them for having the balls to say this is what we believe and standing up to fight for their rights rather than cowering to Europe and backtracking on promises.
