Malaga - Spain.
We were due to dock in Malaga at 10:00AM but a heavy fog had set in caused by the sheer heat of the land and the coolness of the ocean so as we edged into Malaga Harbour the Captain was constantly sounding his fog horn to alert other vessels in the area. A fog horn so loud it made you jump every time it sounded as we sat on Deck 14 (Lido Deck) and tucked into our breakfast by the poolside.
We dissembarked shortly after 1030 and the fog still amongst us found our way into the town, surprised that already, so early the beaches were begining to fill despite the mist.
Gradually you could spot the sun burning its way through as we wandered around town and stopped to sit and get a jug of Sangria which we were assured was the signature drink in these parts.
At 1300 we made our way to the designated spot on the sea front and waited to meet our friends, one whom happpened to be a porn star and I have known both since the year 2000. Was such a nice way to spend the afternoon, lunching, taking a stroll up the promendade and then spending a couple of hours lying in the sunshine on an unusual area of lush green grass directly on the beach.
We boarded around 1830 and had time to gym, steam and shower before dinner and a fairly early night aided by the fact we managed to bring on board 2 bottles of wine and some Jim Beam. No longer would we suffer the expense of ship prices with land prices easily ours. A great day was had by all and it was lovely to see the boys in Malaga. Thanks for making the time to see us, as we sailed towards Cartegena Spain.
