Noone Listens

I got told off today. Apparantly I wasnt clear when I asked for the day off. They thought I would be going in before i went to Birmingham. The whole idea was I took the day at leisure to travel so I wouldnt be so exhausted. I guess that its all down to the fact that with my parents you dont ask for something. You have to be political. Let the news drop by the back door. I think I was told I should go through a traditional request route rather than just tell them. I couldnt help but think though, if one asks and is told No one couldnt do anything about it. However one can phone in sick at any time and does not have to ask for permission.

The ironic thing in it all is that everyone is shattered. Today Dawn took a day off as she was too tired and needed rest. Maddie is one of the newer people and was also off with as she needed rest and Gordon texted in this morning to say that he would be late and then ended up taking the whole day off. Brain was saying it was time to go to work but body was saying, no need more rest.

Back at the begining of the project we were asked what we thought would be the biggest risks to the project. My number one risk was exhaustion. Simply for the fact that when you are on a tour around the country or Europe and are presenting non stop, it does get exhausting after a while. That was when the project was supposed to 9 weeks. Yesterday marked the 6th Month in constant employment.

Its not all bad though. This week I am away. I get to come back to my hotel and just relax with some dinner and some television and then sleep for 9 hours.

Tomorrow will be a near 12 hour day. We kick off at 0800 and have to do an evening event from around 1800. I imagine it will be a night of room service and a night cap tomorrow. I think after a day like that I will be up for a nice Steak Frites!

David is in Birmingham this week. We shared a glass of wine last night before I had to retire. His such a sweety and the best of friends you could ever ask for. Loyal, honest, trustworthy. Always there for you and so was so nice to hear that he would be in Birmingham this week too.
His here working at the Hippodrome as a stage manager and we will catch up properly later this week.

Well the sleep hour is nigh and time for my beauty sleep. Good night for now

Neil
