Friday evening having finished work, I rushed home to finalise the packing of the bags. It was a hot sunny day and perfect weather for going away.
Dusan finally got in around 8PM but it took us 2 more hours to finally be set and ready to go.
The journey around the M25 was fine until we got to the M3 exit to discover it was closed as was the M3 due to maintenance. We drove around a bit desperate to find a detour before deciding we would take the A3 to Portmouth and then into Southampton. Eventually finding our hotel at just before 230AM.
We slept till 930 and then got up to head to town. Having been in such haste I had left my cufflinks at home. So we made our way to the town centre and while I sat and watched the car and bags Dusan shopped. I was too anxious to leave our worldly belongings in a car for any period of time.
We left the car park at 1230 for a drive around town only to find ourself at the gate of the ship and decided it was perfect timing to board. We entered the Mayflower dockyard and was placed in a holding pen with other cars ready for embarkation. They offer a valet style check in. You drive up and your car is driven off and parked. We then checked in, went through security and were onboard our liner within 15 minutes.
Once onboard we went for a walk and got a cocktail and found our way to the 24 hour buffet. Being free it was a dangerous thing, you could litterally eat your way to death.
The first two days were very relaxing, sitting in the sun, enjoying the food and the cocktails. Today we have litterally just docked in Malaga and are off to meet friends for lunch! Happy Days and relaxed and chilled for once.
