And finally time for a Holiday

After waiting for ages and a week that seemed one of the longest I have had to work in a long time, Emily and I were eagerly awaiting our Trip to the Algarve. I cant remember the last time I was looking forward to a break of Sunshine, Reading, Chilling and sipping wine with a Good Friend.

Mother had kindly offered to drop us the short ride to Stansted which we gladly accepted and felt rather posh being dropped off in a X5. The flight was at 1700 but we were three hours early, meaning that the check in was virtually empty and in no time we were through security and ready to shop. Emily had wanted a new pair of Aviator Sunglasses but the new Versace ones were so great on her cheeks it was clear which pair she would have to have. I had packed my Aviators & Dior Glasses. Which we took great pleasure in wearing along with baseball caps throughout the terminal and flight, pretending to be incognito.

One we had shopped we made our way to the VIP Lounge I have a membership to use. It was deserted, unlike the packed Departure Gates filled with noise and children and mahem. The Club enables me and guests to use a private Lounge which has a free bar and snacks. Emily immediately turned from her usual composed self to a child in a sweetshop. Pouring several large cocktails, making plates of snacks and packing cans and goodies into her bag for consumption later on the flight.

The short 2.5 flight was soon over and a short doze fitted in, we had cleared customers, collected our bags and were at the Car Rental Kiosk collecting our fabulous convertible Peugeot 307. After ten minutes of trying to find a leaver or button to open the boot, Emily asked one of the staff for assistance. Leaving us feeling quite daft at the fact that you have to push the Zero in the wording 307 to pop the trunk. How was we to know that ?

The short drive to Vale do Lobo we arrived just as the sun was going down and capturing the last of the light as we unpacked in the Villa; Emily very much excited at how much bigger the place was than she had imagined. We both had to agree that the villa is probably bigger than her flat & my house combined. We settled in with some snacks, a bottle Chardonnay and Brigitte Jones Edge of Reason. Just chilled and enjoying good company in relaxed surroundings.
