Considering that DTPM is both my friends and my favourite club on the planet, its no surprise that we would be there to join in the Birthday Celebrations.
Carl, Woody, Steve, Taz and I all met at Marcus’s at 9 for a pre meet up and then took the remaining few minutes walk around to the club in Clerkenwell.
The Birthdays, like New Years and Bank Holidays are packed to capacity of over 2500 of the hottest looking men you have ever seen. With numbers like that you have to get their early, even with tickets, to ensure you get in without standing in line too long. So we were outside a couple of minutes before opening. Once inside, Coat Checked and down the stairs past the drag queen greeters who handed out the customary gift on Birthdays and New Years. This year a Blue and White, Emblazoned with the DTPM Logo Lanyard. Funny thing was just last week Woody and I were saying how it was weird that we had them for other clubs and not our fave. So gift in hand we headed down stairs to say Hello to the gorgeous Kerri on Membership & Record Sales and then on down to the bar and the usual tour of the loos and finding everyone.
An Hour later in the Main bar we had found the entire gang and were on the way to dance before it got too Heaving. The main floor gets so packed that you can actually not move by 3AM so it was boogie while you can.
We tend to traditionally dance on the main floor till then, then maybe the Bass and Laser room for a while and then upstairs to what we call the Departure Lounge. Same music as it’s the Mezzanine to the main floor, but a little more spacious and Airy.
I didn’t think I would last the night but more than merry by 6 AM Lee and I decided to make a move. Lucky for us we hit the coat check minutes before the club closed and made out way back to his to Chill out.
I don’t know what it is about DTPM. The classy venue of Fabric? The Awesome Sound & Visuals? The entourage of close friends creating a great party atmosphere? A team of Club Promoters that care about creating a great environment? Well done Lee and the Gang. Fan Bloody Tastic night and still the best club on the planet!
