Work Trip to Leeds

Everyone seems to think that my job is so glamorous. I always get told, "Your so lucky, you get to travel all over and stay in nice hotels". I guess it does sound nice but in reality you get to see a whole load of Airports, Stations, Taxi's and hotel bedrooms. There is nothing more awful than going into a hotel restaurant and asking for a table for one. A good book always helps in those instances. More often than not I order room service or if possible, go out and eat elsewhere.

This trip, Tuesday to Thursday to meet a client in Leeds was slightly different. Unlike my past couple of trips to Leeds I actually got a hotel in the city centre, the lovely Marriott. Secondly EVERYTHING was on account meaning I could eat, drink or do whatever I wanted. There is only so much that you can drink or eat and so I did get a chance to go out and explore the gay district briefly. Seeing as it was literally 30 seconds outside of the hotel. But much like eating on your own, a drink on your own can be the same and so I used the time to try and catch up on a few early nights. That was the theory anyway. But I hardly slept. Considering that I didnt sleep at all on Sunday (Dusan's last night) and Monday evening hardly at all as the bed felt so empty and cold without him, I thought by Tuesday I would have been so exhausted and manage a good 8 - 9 hours kip.

The two days training went fine and yesterday I shared the train journey home with one of the delegates, Angela. We enjoyed several bottles of wine and managed to speed our way back to London letting the train take the strain (Or was it our liver taking the strain?)

Finally got home around 1030PM and literally passed out. Thankfully I had permission to work flexi time today.

Missing Dusan so much, I wish I had thought ahead and planned a weekend over there this week. I finally get to see him again on the 6th October (22 days and counting) :-) Miss you baby! XXX
