I think it was back in April that I first went for an interview with the bank. Before I even started working full time at GSK. With 5 interviews and an IQ test all before me and then security clearance to get through in the first instance.
But today, finally, is my first day. I had wanted to be in bed nice and early so that I was nice and fresh this morning. New starter Induction starts at Liverpool Street at 0750AM. That alone necessitated being up by 6:00AM. I need to leave the house by 6:45 this morning. Needless to say I was watching the clock most of the night.
I managed to get to sleep easy enough, then woke when Dusan climbed into bed at 3:00AM, after working a late shift. That was it. 3:00AM and I was awake. Normally I can fall back to sleep again without too much effort but I guess I was either nervous or apprehensive for my first day. I lay there watching the hours slowly tick away on the faint glow of the clock radio.
By 5:45 I decided to get up and make a nice pot of coffee and will soon be getting showered and into my new suit ready for my first day at the office. I am sure this evening I will sleep far better. Sundays are never easy to get into the swing of going to bed early. Wish me luck.
