With the Olympics in full flow and Team GB doing so well in the medal count (our best in 100 years) you cant help but feel Proud to be British. Which ironically is an unusual thing in itself.
For some reason we are not allowed to fly flags from our buildings unless it happens to be St Georges Day or there has been a death. A far cry from the United States where Offices and homes alike are hung with the Star Spangled Banner. A law is even in place that if you fly a flag at night it must be illuminated. The Americans are proud to be American. Why is it that we are not allowed to be proud to be British on occasions other than the Olympics or other such event?
Politcal Correctness gone made where we cant fly a national flag in case we offend someone? Who seriously could be offended by our countries own flag?
Well done Team GB, we are proud of you all. Travel safe.
