Winds of Change

They say that when the winds of change are coming you should be ready for big changes. Tonight, coming home from the west end, albeit in August still, I needed to reach for my sweater. I know that summer is not yet over, but at the same time, the nice long hot nights seem to all but a memory. I do have faith that it will return yet again, this year.

Monday marks more winds of change for me too. Its now official. I start my new job on Monday working with an Investment Bank in the City in the Role of Business Integration.

Having run my own company for 10 years now making the transistion over into banking and furthermore a full time, Permanent Role, is a little daunting to say the least. But I have felt the need for change for some years now. Looking for something that I can do for the rest of my working life and be good at.

Having worked up the ranks of training, (Many thanks to my Mentor, Angela Brown. Angel with an A). Angela helped me get set up doing what I do ten years ago. Now I have to move over and agreeably, take a step down in regards to monetary reward to reep the benefits of a career. Im looking forward to being appreciated for my worth within the organisation and for the challenge.

We all need a challenge in life and I am sure this will be just the thing I need. Plus with it, of course, comes the stability of work and finance. I dont think that we have both worked full times for more than a month or so since Dusan moved in.

Yesterday, on the way to meeting the girls for the Inner Circle Lunch club dinner, I bumped into Lee at the Railway Terminus. Quite out of the blue. We stopped and chatted for 10 minutes. He said he had been working at their City office. Now I knew Lee was in Hospitality Management. Just not where. I used to know he was a Butler. It was years before I realised he buttled for the Royals. Turns out that although he works for the management company he is head of Hospitality in my new company. As they would have said at Disney, Its a Small World after all.

My new gym is just a 10 minute walk from the office and its all starting to look rosy and fine. So Autumn may be looming in, but I am looking forward to what lies ahead.
